There are going to be many inaccurate measurements. Can see it already.

I measured 19.9". I stuck my ruler all the way in the ground. Does that count??

I've been angry that Providence stopped measuring snow in Feb of 1996 (Of course, the snowiest winter ever), and did it hit or miss till 2001, when it was picked up again. Is that what you mean by "Cleaned up the record with Will's info"? I was on a weather website talking about snow, and they mentioned that Providence had 105 inches in 95-96. I could not figure out where they got that info. They do asterisk saying it's not the official total. Or are you talking about other snow info about Providence?

The data exists, it just hasn't been digitized in a lot of places. So searchable records usually have missing data for that ~decade. However the "Top 10" lists usually include the missing data.

I CAN’T EVEN FIND AN 11” MEASUREMENT!!  Even The Drifts aren’t 20”!!

I was 10 Miles TOO FAR North for that band.

What a Historic Bust.  RI is talking on the news like it’s the Biggest Storm some 1978, and I have 6”-10” in the driveway.

Drifts are the Best since 2015.  Horizontal Snow is Best since 2013.  Other than that; All-Time Disappointment.  EVEN when everyone thinks RI got Destroyed.  All but Far North like me and NW like Foster.
Lol.

yep, you got wind so lots of drifting + old snow on the ground which a lot of public will be measuring through, i guarantee it. Prob where that 40" report came from + driftage.

That far south they didn't have as widespread 20"+ amounts as were found around Boston area and the North Shore 3 weeks ago.

Similar conditions here. Just on the fringe of an all-timer, but still a fantastic storm

Always appreciate your posts, nice to have some hyperlocal validation and analysis

Wonder how @weathafella's doing

I'm hoping we're in decent position for the pivot and can also benefit from farther west fronto

3k NAM keeps us in decent rates noon through 7pm, hopefully at least another 6-8"
