Was about ready to go to bed. Snow been light to moderate with occasional short heavy bursts since it started. Wow did that change! Has to be over 2" an hour rate now with wind and temp at 30 and slowly dropping. Heavy bands finally holding together pivoting in from Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard over to here! With more building.

About 3.5 here on the RI coast...blowing hard but not crazy. Very wet still and pasty. Visibility comes and goes. Dog likes it better than the fluffy stuff of the previous two storms we have experienced at least.

Finally hit insane here! Almost looks like a fog bank. Snow is in between wet and powder. Can make a snowball but have to work at it!

I would caution anyone to follow the HRRR guidance verbatim at the moment.  For the last four hourly runs, it's had issues with it's simulated radar returns, and I think that affects the other output.  It's consistently keeping banding farther south than it actually is. It fixes it each run at hour 1 on each run, then regresses at hour 2 forward.

Again, can't deny that there might be some cutbacks, or a more ENE movement, but the HRRR is having some difficulty handling this storm so far.

What I like most is that radar continuing to show strong banding and minimal slots. The one in CT will be gone soon enough, and we do need to watch the one headed toward RI. Looks very good elsewhere though. Keep that going until the nuclear detonation later this morning.

Commiserating for you that an all-timer is uncertain, but I don't think it's all lost yet.

Eg. 01z NBM hourly rates accurately depicts the intense rates in Delaware, but then pivots the best fronto to south coast by 5AM, and crushes eastern/southeastern MA 7a-1p

Are you staying in Chestnut Hill? Really picked up here in Brookline in past 30 min, moderate and roads covered
