Despite the NWS noting freezing fog potential for the DC suburbs, it was 35 at DCA with 3 mile visibility.

Here in Arlington, the visibility is well over the half-mile to the nearby hilltop.

30 and freezing fog imby. York Airport, notoriously cold with its temp gauge in a low spot, at 22 degrees with freezing fog. They are right on Rt. 30 with a speed limit around 50mph. Wouldn't want to be driving there this morning.

Freezing fog in New Windsor this morning. Was very slick on an early morning EMS run near Taneytown at 3:00 am.

I passed an accident in the densest fog area but it had happened long enough before that police were already on site. But wouldn’t doubt visibility was a factor. Temp was below freezing.

If I can stay below 60° tomorrow, this will be the first winter in a decade where I didn't hit 60 or better in DJF.

Looks like BWI had a 60 in Dec, and a 62 in Jan., so they came dang close too. Still, quite a cool overall DJF winter for us.

Heard it again but had an obstructed view atm, then heard again in the late afternoon from indoors. Missed again. Otoh...I randomly saw a pair of hawks mating in a tree! Heard a ruckus, looked up, flipped out. Red-shouldered? It was quick. Also saw a cormorant later. 

Since Ive been grumpy-posting about March and winter's end, I will say today was a nice example for a good March day, barely cracked 50 (high 52), sunny, light winds, very refreshing! I was surprised how much snow was hanging on in certain shaded stretches in the neighborhood.

Awesome! The first one I saw last year was on March 10th. Hoping to see one soon!
