The “I bring the mojo” Jan 30-Feb 1 potential winter storm

Triangle looks to be in a good place this evening with that line of banding totals around I-95.  You can see the precip trend on some of these hires models.  If the NW trend is viable here it will move to over the Triangle or just west in last 24hrs.  Who really knows how this will unfold though.

I’m bringing the mojo. Catching that 15 pound bass. Let’s reel it in.

What was that storm thread you started several years ago…blue turd something?

Awesome to see basically 80% of this board getting an awesome snowstorm. Cheers.

Haven't logged in here in years. Forgot and had to change my password.  SC Native living in Spokane, WA.  our winter has sucked out here. we usually average ~50"/year we've had like 13" so far.   Hoping you guys get hammered.  Living vicariously through my family in the Columbia SC area.  they're freaking out.

Cheers!

Fayetteville to Greenville looks like a good spot. There will likely be some areas in eastern NC off the coastline that will score huge in this setup as well. The main coastal band has shifted around about as much as I can ever remember on the models this close in. Part of that is the struggle to resolve when this vort rotates negative and just how far W or SW it actually digs. The more it tilts negative, the more Atlantic moisture is drawn in, the better chance for the SLP to consolidate quicker and come closer to the coast. This also moves the 850 low further west and stronger, which increases banding and dendrite growth over the piedmont.

My guess is it will be very close to gametime before we know for sure where it will setup. All RDU jokes aside, the Triangle could very well still end up in a banding situation where you get 10 inches plus. Or it could trend south again tomorrow and get 2 or 3. So we'll see. These snow maps this far out are pretty worthless IMO in this situation. It's almost better to just throw out a max/min for the larger cities. I will prob do that tommorow.

Just remember you green thumbs out there, no better time to fertilize your lawn and put down the pre-emergent than on top of a fresh snowpack!  So make sure to visit your local feed and seed tomorrow and load up those bags of clover cleaner and be ready for Sunday.  February 1st is the beginning of lawn maintenance season in the south!  ;)
