Still 90-95% sleet but my mist of snow is maybe now a mist of drizzle? Temp has dropped back 1-2F. Now 23.

Yea, im cool with it. I was def more into bourbon pre covid when it was actually easy to get allocated stuff in moco. The guy at the store near me in Frederick has cut me deals before, though. I still favor just about anything from Buffalo trace distillery.  Visiting them and going to the derby is a goal.

Just in from a short recon up the street and almost all ZR here in Del Ray. Temp up to 28. A "good Samaritan" snowblew the sidewalks on the next block, just in time for the ZR.

Pouring sleet again.  I really don't think we have more than a couple hours of precip left, I expect us to be mostly done by 8pm.  Hopefully we just can completely avoid ZR

Ehh maybe. Long range thread is quiet. Next weekend threat has pretty much disappeared. We can’t ever seem to get big qpf and we finally do and we waste it. Can’t squander the few opportunities we get.

Perspective I guess but this is easily the most snow/sleet Ellicott city’s gotten in years… you have to be at what? 9”?

You seeing snow? Radar presentation doesn’t look like sleet

Flakes are mixing in, but we’re primarily sleet. At least 3” of sleet so far and counting

Seems like we got stung by a lack of blocking/la Nina combo. But I generally agree that if we’re gonna waste an inch or whatever of qpf, this is the most wintry way to do it.

It isn’t N/S, it is E/W, and it is insanely sharp. I popped up to 21 but have fallen back to 18.

This storm was the result of pushing tons of precip into extremely cold air but then it looked at our climo and said 

“24 inches of cold powder for DC- does not compute!!!!!”

 

so instead we get a sleet bomb with temps in the teens and low 20’s.

Thanks! We usually leave the tree up until the end of Jan to enjoy it a little longer. I love decorating but when I have to take it down I feel like saying just burn it all and throw it in a dumpster
