As usual, neutral perspective from me as a Bengals fan -

My main takeaway is pretty genuine befuddlement that Harbaugh, who is a special teams oriented head coach by background, knowing precisely how tricky kicking in Pittsburgh is late in the year in the cold and especially when the winds are a factor, and who watched an outstanding kicker in Chris Boswell just not ten minutes prior push an extra point wide, looked at a 41-yard field goal attempt with 12 seconds and a timeout left and chose to lose three yards on a kneel down rather than try to get five or ten yards closer. He had a rookie kicker, every yard closer would have helped mentally at the least, and maybe helped with wind. In any event, clearly Loop didn't hit it right as it was a miss from the jump but holy hell that was not a great coaching decision to settle for a 44-yard attempt rather than try and shorten it given the timeout in hand.

What team are you referring to? If you're talking about the Seahawks...no they didn't, lol Pete Carroll was fired after they missed the playoffs, not right after the second SB appearance (they didn't win that one)

Im talking my team; Jerry Jones got rid of Jimmy Johnson on the heels of SB28.

lol I know. Just have to laugh at this point. Maybe next season injuries won’t be our downfall.

I was always a little concerned about Jayden’s durability compared to a more stocky build player like Caleb. Hopefully they can get him to be an elite passer and not just a playmaker type because he’s really not built for it longterm. And of course, a thoroughbred rb would help.

Perma-Nina makes stream phasing more complicated than usual. Next year’s moderate Modiki Nino is going to have triple phasers galore. Trust. :scooter:

btw - I use the weenie react as a badge of honor. Nobody should be offended if I weenie them. I'd weenie the best poster on this forum if they said something hopeful or snow-positive

Beautiful bluebird day at Mammoth right now. The stoke is very high as skiers slash that fresh pow! There is an insane amount of snow all around the Mammoth at Woolly Lot, and also on the Summit! That wood sign is completely under extremely deep snow!

https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/the-summit That's at least 9-10 feet of snow!

Today’s a great day to fire John Harbaugh!

It didn't happen. It wont. :(

Rumblings about changes at the coordinator position(s). I will settle for both Orr and Monken being fired.

I still wish the owner had some balls but he likes Johnny boy for some reason. Klint Kubiak would be a great hire imo.

Interestingly- if Boswell makes that extra point, the Ravens would have been more aggressive on that drive since a FG would have only tied it. They would have taken some shots to try and score a TD, and given how Zay was getting wide open, they might have. Game over then. Instead they were non aggressive losers once they got into FG range- EVEN TOOK A KNEE LOSING YARDAGE TO PLACE THE BALL WHERE THE KICKER WANTED IT(DID NO GOOD) INSTEAD OF TRYING TO GAIN A FEW MORE YARDS, and assumed a kicker who kicked a  ball out of bounds on a previous kickoff(something he had done multiple times this season) would strike the ball true and win it for them with the game- and season- on the line. Yet another failure in crunch time for this team over the last few years. Uncanny. But apparently not a Harbaugh issue.

you do realize the kick was not short...it was very wide. He would of missed from 32 lol. With that being said--if it was 27-24 and not 26-24....much higher chance we would of made it

He might have felt more confident if the kick was shorter and hit it more solid, but yeah, he didn't strike it cleanly just like that kickoff. Terrible. He didn't miss in the regular season from 40-49 yds btw. Reality is he was nervous and choked- might just be his youth or he might not be the one.

Fun fact:

Lamar Jackson is the 1st QB in NFL history with 2 lead-changing 50-yard or more pass TDs in the 4th quarter or OT of a game.  And still lost!

The game was representative of the majority of their entire season — including not being able to stop opponents in the final minute or few minutes, and not able to play 4 consistently good quarters.

Offense came out strong, then went silent for 2+ quarters.

Regardless, this was Lamar’s best game of the season IMO.

Let’s go O’s!

Oy...as long as Harbaugh is here we're gonna basically be the Cowboys: accident waiting to happen, smh Biscotti never says much, but I gotta wonder where he's at with all this. An extension didn't stop him from firing Billick, and for Harbaugh I'm sure they wouldn't mind eating the rest. But I don't know how he can look at what has happened not just this year but the previous two and not see the common denominator.

And from a money standpoint...he risks declining attendance because the entire city wants Harbaugh out, and will not believe in this team going forward until a change is made. If he does not make a change he is out of touch, imo

You need to start up a website or blog and post all those pics on it.

I really should. Justin Berk put together a nice presentation of the video I sent him. Check it out on Facebook. I thought of you several times lol. The snow shoveling was magical. It's this light fluff that's really fun to shovel and play in. I walked through fresh powder that was up to my stomach while being dumped on by 6+ inch per hour rates.

Their was some weird phenomenon that went on during the most intense snow. One thing I noticed right before the 6" per hour rates would start is the sky in the direction it was coming from would get this weird look to it. Day or night. Didn't matter. It looked like a weird pinkish tone. During the day it almost looked brown. I learned really fast that when I saw that, it was about to nuke. The intensity is another thing I noticed. The snow intensity would come with a gust of wind followed by just a sudden unload of big flakes. At one point the visibility dropped literally to less then 50 feet. I have pictures to back up everything. It snowed like 5" in 30-40 minutes. It snows unbelievably hard. Like nothing I've ever seen.

Another interesting thing i noticed is the wind. The wind is what brings the snow band. It happens on windy days. Once you get into the center of the heaviest snow it becomes almost dead calm. When the band moves away the wind returns.

I never expected gruple during the most intense band. During the extreme rates you get pelted with big rimmed flakes that sound like sleet mixing in (Being from here i thought oh great, sleet lol). When these snowballs hit your jacket they explode into a powder. I've never seen that either.

The temperature also did weird stuff in the most intense bands. It felt like it would get much colder. It felt like it went from 22 to 16. Once it backed off to 2-3" in her per hour the temp would climb back to 22. It was a surreal experience. It's just starting to sink in how insane it was. It was humbling. It snowed so hard during the night that it was almost scary. I had to follow the snow bank along the road to see where I was going.

When it snows 6+ inches per hour it also creates weird light phenomenon. The the light coming from inside the houses would create what looked like a laser beam coming out from every window with a light on inside. I have pictures. I'll post them over the next few weeks.

I experienced nearly 100" in 4 days. I got there the day before it hit. I was there 5 days.

Congrats to you on this LES Experience!

I am officially JEALOUS. And I thought Mammoth was something. Man I need to get my sorry azz off of the couch and get to a major LES Event and blast ELO at 400 decibels while trying to jebwalk in it lmao.

That did it, dailylurker. I am gonna put this account of yours about LES Effects in my new SMF Board. In the public-facing part. It's high time. This stuff you experienced is Unbelievable. I'd miss a 14 foot Mammoth snow with 230 mph winds blowing the pow off the resort roof for a chance to personally experience that 6 inch an hour LES!
