Another 1.0" has fallen here in East Nantmeal since 6am total snow 8.5" 

Still some light snow temp down to 26.9

2.2” was the total snowfall here. Some of the LES/upslope stuff starting to roll in here now. Temp down to 16ºF.

5.0" total here in my part of the Poconos. I wasn't expecting anything near that. Nice event. Seasonal total 21.0". Excellent December here.

My 3.3” of snowfall melted down to .28” liquid. Temp has dropped to 25 here. Quite the winter day on tap.

About 3.5” for this one, nice event. Was able to get lucky and sit in a few heavy bands at 1-2am.

Very curious what temp or precip issue the city had. An inversion perhaps?

I am measuring between 4.5 and 5. My mom live 12 miles away measured just over 4.5 on glass table. Not bad at all they plowed our road multiple times through the night. Just a few miles from ski Roundtop. 15 minute drive to our hangar at Captial city airport didn’t need to plow and grass hardly covered.

Putting this is a .1”. Measured that on a fence post (only surface not mulch with snow). It’s cold out though!

So this snow snow plus the previous two has put me at 11.5" for the season.

9.5" is my current snowpack, so since 12/2 we only lost 2 inches to melting/compaction. That's quite a testament to how cold the first half of December has been.

3 measurements yielded an average of 4.5" here in Maytown. Everything was encased in white and made for a true Hallmark scene. Only had about 1" on the driveway so no shoveling was required. That was my only disappointment.

Temp - I didn't make it below freezing even here until well after midnight. As I posted above I had very little on my sidewalk and driveway.

Good morning all!  I just caught up from all the posts since 1:00am.  I'm very happy for all of you that grossly overachieved.  Other than @canderson(sorry), I ended up with the second lowest accumulation coming in at a whopping 1.0" with 0.5" before midnight and the 0.5" after midnight.  That 1.0" melted down to 0.11", close to 10:1 for water equivalent.  Even just 1.0" everywhere is enough to create a beautiful early winter scene.  I should also say that nearly all of the snow fell with a temperature that was above 32.0...but just barely with most of it falling around 32.5 degrees.  One nice thing about the wet snow (now frozen) is that it is preventing blowing snow, which prevents drifts on my driveway and sidewalks.  The temp has been hanging out around 23 degrees, and I'm not expecting it to rise much at all with a very cold 504dm thickness sweeping on through the daytime this afternoon.  If anything I would anticipate a slow drop during this afternoon.  Enjoy your winter wonderlands all!  Oh, I forgot to mention my seasonal snow total is now up to 3.8".

It looks like we ended up with between 5" to 9" of snow across Chester County. Here in East Nantmeal we finished with 8.8". This will go down as the 17th largest December storm since 1893 here in Chester and SE Berks Counties. See the current top 25 below.

WEATHER: It's fn cold. The half inch of snow received yesterday is now blowing about and freezing on contact. Main roads are good but side roads suck something awful. 

 

Looks like the warm up will be brief and back to colder by Christmas.

Just under 4” on the ground here, quite cold, plus on and off snow showers. Doesn’t get a whole lot better for mid-December!

The warm up later this week seems the NWS shaved off 5 degrees from 51 to 46 on Thursday. Seems like it's not be to outrageously warm now. And the highs on Friday and Saturday look to maybe staying in the 30s. at least for my area.

Today is one of those rare days that gets me jacked as a weather guy- my temp was 26 at 10am and 4 hours later it's 19. Love it!
