Was just out to grab a sandwich for lunch…had to put truck into 4 auto…slippery for sure with slush covered roads here. Snow/skeet /freezing rain mix…temp in truck said 29, and didn’t budge. And That’s usually a degree or two warm more often than not. Cold is hanging tough. Wintry appeal for sure.

Getting a good glaze going right now...temp at 29F. Some sleet mixed in. Would be nice to latently cool that little warm layer around 900-925 enough to pound some aggregates for a bit...I noticed some of the CC on radar trying to wash out on the northern side.... but not getting hopes up. Best bet here is the Kraft ending tonight....

If we can keep that CF pinned further SE I think it will help with that. Although need to wash out the fugly layer from 850-950

Well Let’s see what transpires later though?  One of the rare times where your elevation is hurting you perhaps.  Definitely playing out colder so far than was modeled.

It’s longitude. But it’s all coming NW slowly.

For whatever reason this area just furnaces in these setups. I’ve seen it so many times I knew exactly what was gonna happen. The valley will never hit freezing and will get an icestorm and west of there will be all snow . Meanwhile I get 32-33 rain. And then the wrap around will hit areas just NE and east tonight
