I think we may mix down to like 60-63 or so in ASOS stations. Not counting some sprinkler infested PWS. During peak heating. Once sun goes down the dews return.

I didn't look crazy into the details so just took a quick look but I see what you mean about the ASOS stations maybe mixing out that much...at least on the NAM there is a pocket of significantly drier air at 850 that moves overhead during mid-morning into early afternoon. Obviously being prime heating we would mix rapidly and temps would skyrocket...looks like though we start moistening back up early afternoon so I actually wonder if we see dews start to climb earlier than you would expect?

Being cooped up in the AC all day isn't good and why would anyone want to do that? What's great about AC is being able to use it as a brief refreshment. Like if I was working inside all day with the AC blasting...I would get chilly and would need to switch to jeans and probably a long sleeved. The AC is meant as a relief...not chilling in front of all day with your feet up.

You must be kidding lol...

When you're just sitting and stationary not doing anything and being blasted by cooler air...eventually it becomes too much. I love that feeling when going outside from the heat but to be sitting in it for several-plus hours...no

If I didn't know better I'd assume your age was around 185 lol..it's the offseason, you can probably find a good deal on one of these!

Guys, I'm curious if you think my obs could be accurate.  I don't trust what I am seeing. My Davis Vantage Pro is 2m high in my field on grass not near any manmade structure with scattered smaller fruit trees around. Remember I'm at 1100 feet in Central NH

Currently at 3:10pm  93.3/79.3  but....

At 2:44pm the temperature was 93F and the dew point was 81.8F giving me a heat index of 115.2F according to my Davis display.  Could that be real?  It seems overdone?

I'm at 1250' in central VT.  My PWS is mounted about 10' off the ground on my deck railing so while not exactly in an "official" type of environment it's not sitting of mulch beds that get watered either.

Heat indices get exponentially wonky when the dews get high. There's going to be higher dews over the vegetative/wet areas though. The Davis sensors may be a little high, but the dews definitely pool from evapotranspiration on these dead air heat days.

My dew hit 82F earlier...but I usually only post here the lowest dew I record in the previous 15 mins or so. Like my dew is 78F right now, but it recorded 75F twice in the last 15 mins so I'll call it 91/75. Jives more with the ASOS sites.

Ha, that I-93 pavement.

Though it matches with KCON at 97/74 in the 5-min data.

My truck's thermo is so inaccurate, It runs 4-5°F to warm, I guess if you go with its bias you can guess close to actual during travel.

The thermometer in my old Ford Fusion was surprisingly accurate.  It would always match KMPV or my PWS.  I could be up near the airport, look at my car thermo and then see what the obs were it was spot on.

See below regarding the thermo in my last car.  The new Mazda seems to be about 3° too high.

I’ve found mine runs 1-2F warm.  Like a 98F, I’m thinking 96-97F.

My old SUV seemed spot on, like oddly spot on with obs.  The MVL ASOS is like 100 feet off RT 100 so it was always easy to check when driving by.
