A solid steady rain past 2 hours and temp now down to 55 after hi temp 66; periods of sun/clouds/sun all day before evening showers moved in.

We don't get deep, wide precipitation bands anymore. Looking at radar I would expect that look in the tropics or out in Hawaii. Lots of individual cells that pop up / disappear quickly. 

Not sure what is the reason behind it.

Good to see Fredrick getting it's daily flood. Looks like another non event incoming here in the lowlands. It feels like there's been one decent rain in the past 2 years lol

Really does seem that way - more so than normal the last 3 years with thunderstorm seasons... Almost always north of Winchester and usually south of 64 in the Valley with organized activity ... Central and northern Valley gets slammed with incredible droughts but Lexington southward no problem... So far it's alittle bit wetter than last years Feb through July down here before the tropical deluge started in Aug - When it was barely a 1.5 inch a month avg... It's annoying too - usually get slammed during work in Charlottesville only to go home and see less than a tenth in the gauge..

Despite being in heavy rain multiple times in Charlottesville- heavy rain up Afton down into Eastern Waynesboro,  NW edge of town/my backyard 0.02... The usual thunderstorm pattern the last few years....

It's crazy how it just won't rain. Congrats PA and central VA. Today looks like another boring non event. Water restrictions and extreme drought are becoming more and more likely with every storm bust.

My area did pretty well for a while there. Last event underperformed, but still managed 0.6" or so. Starting to get dry again, so really could have used a half inch+ from this.

NW areas getting more rain now, which is needed for that area. The worm has turned lol.

It is past time for Hyde to go. Like seriously. Team needs a shake up and a new perspective. The pitching woes are problematic and wont be resolved unless they get some healthy arms back, but the offense is just pathetic, and it shouldn't be.

I think did better in hunt valley than some of the area did and my girlfriend in fallston said it absolutely poured at the farm overnight. 
 

and looks like actual hours of gentle rain may be on tap for this part of the area this AM. Raining currently.

Mount Holly's rainfall forecasts have been very dissappointing during the last several systems in this area. Systems pull NE, or phase down when nearing the area, and its not just the local area, seems like a large portion of Delaware. We all know the drought issues in the far Western areas. soil moisture levels not that great here presently. 

WPC has lowered next week's rainfall totals in our area.  

Interesting, the EPS has above normal rainfall anomalies in the Mod Atlantic leading into the Memorial Day weekend.

So.. when does east of 95 get rain again lol. Looks like the forecast for next week is going dry too. I guess this is how a once in a 100 year drought is born.
