don't recall exactly what year, early 2000s I think, was literally gloomy and dank like April weather north of Richmond until June, remember driving to Florida that year and as soon as we hit that area, beautiful, two weeks there and on the way back after that spot back to dank, also think it snowed on opening day at yankee stadium too, 02 maybe? that sucked, late leaf out and everything

Classic Yankee opener snow came some years before.  Conditions at the 1:05 home opener on 4/6/82:  25°, S+, 6" new.  Central Park recorded slightly bigger snowfalls in April 1875 and 1915, but for wintry appeal the 4/82 storm stands head and shoulders above the rest.  IMO, that April event vies with the Octobomb for anomalously timed snowstorms.  Maybe add May 1977 thought the extent of that one was far smaller.

It would go along way towards regional regression to get an interior bowling ball with like a 2/1/21 gradient to end this season, but count me out of betting on it to actually take place.

That was a great storm here…I’d take that in a minute.  But this winter can’t put anything much together(outside of eastern areas), so count me out too.

Getting a lot of "is winter over" calls today from clients up in SNE. Got to keep an eye on that late March to early April period before sticking a fork in this one for sure.

I've seen stranger things happen.

Winter is over, has been long over.  Why can't it snow outside of winter?

His clients are most likely concerned with snow when they mean "winter". Though it might depend on who they are....most of my clients back when i worked in the field were DOT/DPW clients so they cared about snow...less about temps unless it was in context with the storm so they could know how much brine or salt they needed.

It always snows outside of winter.  You know this. And as Will said, they want to know about if it might snow again.  And it was pretty dam winter like Saturday and Saturday night and Sunday and Sunday night. And also last Wednesday and Thursday too. So just stop with the complete nonsense and you’re narrative.

We all get it, it’s mid March and most all of us have spring on our minds too. So you can give your bullshit a break already.

that's not revelatory ....yeah, it can snow in March and April even perhaps May.

Most snow events in April and May won't require DPW road crews to do much....at least outside the higher elevations. Late March is a bit more likely to need man power on the roads.

You are correct, however, I am still leaving plow equipment on till April 1st or so, I will be tempted as these temperatures are above normal, to remove everything, get the shop back into "summer mode", but I have seen in years past what can happen if you leave your guard down! Maybe I should start removing, then of course something would come out of no where !

Yeah most of my DPW clients would wait until around 4/15 or so unless there was an obvious threat approaching. Though they'd start telling their contractors a little earlier than that sometimes assuming they could probably get away with their domestic supply if an April event happened.

I don’t keep pushing winter…you push warm and spring all year long. I’m reasonable and expect winter weather in winter. I don’t expect winter in spring or fall. That’s the difference between us.

gross exaggeration, I didn't push warmth at all until later in February, when it was apparent that "deep" winter was cooked.  And we had a 70 degree day.  Otherwise fair and balanced

That’s a blatant lie…but who really gives a crap.  Most of us get your gig.

And Most winters in SNE will feature a very mild to warm day or two during the 3 months of the season. That doesn’t mean winter is over every time. But go ahead and use phrases such as “deep winter” to hide the BS.

Those 1.8kft stations in the RWIS networks have 33-34F wetbulbs right now. So flakes should be right off the deck near the start.

Heck...maybe even catpaws here near the beginning if the GFS is right. Although the NAM says no way.

He used to like snow. Then somehow got mad at the board, now takes it out by being a warminista. Never knew what happened to the boy.
