calculus1
Loving this point-and-click forecast for my in-laws outside Black Mountain (9-15 through Sunday...): That sure beats the one for MBY in North Hickory which has steadily decreased the potential for snow (3-5 through Sunday...):

wncsnow
I would be pleasantly surprised if Marion gets the 11.2 forecasted by the NWS.
BooneWX
The cutoff is going to be gnarly on the east side. If you look at the town by town probabilities, it’s even more evident. https://www.weather.gov/gsp/winter

I work from home, and it has been a serious challenge getting my assignments in on time this week. I've worn out the refresh button lurking here, always have it open in a different tab. Thanks to everyone as always for your analysis, it's a pleasure to read and learn, and I'm excited for the shindig to start. 5

Tyler Penland
Temp down to 26. Ground temps ain't going to be a problem. My average air temp since January 3rd is 31 degrees. Definitely a totally different scenario than we had going into the last one when the previous 2 weeks were a good 10-20 degrees higher. BooneWX
The trend with Zr in the Euro is highly concerning. Gives me 7 inches of wet snow and over a half an inch of ice. Cut that in half and it’s still lights out.
