How states, counties, townships etc along the coast,  allow surface transmission lines is beyond me. Makes absolutely no sense. Let’s put a tree in the ground and attach 480 to it. Hopefully since we call it a pole it will survive 150 mph winds… insanity

When a city is already below sea level, you can't exactly dig down a whole lot.

That's CJ Lergner. That dude is a reckless idiot. He would put himself in danger in order to get footage. Most chasers played it safe and stayed away from the vulnerable surge areas but he was way south. He has no regard for other people then expects everyone to bail him out.

Almost sure this dude is doing this for clicks.

I guess he doesn’t know about the rule. No rescues until at least 24 hours after a wind speed reading of 200 or above. The air has to heal.

FWIW, believe the Jock Williams dude (the guy with the stream) is also with him... Esp given Jock's SN location being Larose, LA (same as location indicated in the tweets).

Well they're a match made in heaven. I listened to that dudes stream for a solid min and turned it off. Screaming and over exaggerating everything. Just irritates me when people have no regard for their life or others and then expect everyone to save them. Don't wish anything ill on him but just tired of his ways. He's shady.

Water isn’t a concern, we’ve been installing high voltage in water with little to no issue. Problem is cost. And I’m not here saying every residential house should have underground utilities, but for main feeds? Heck we got a main feed sitting in the river right now.

Storm chasers who get stuck deserve no rescue in unsafe conditions imo.

Back to weather - LaPlace appears it’ll be uninhabitable

Eyewall is just parked over them and Taft, which has that massive Dow chemical plant
