He would put himself in danger in order to get footage. Most chasers played it safe and stayed away from the vulnerable surge areas but he was way south. He has no regard for other people then expects everyone to bail him out. FWIW, believe the Jock Williams dude (the guy with the stream) is also with him... Screaming and over exaggerating everything. Just irritates me when people have no regard for their life or others and then expect everyone to save them. Don't wish anything ill on him but just tired of his ways. He's shady.

Water isn’t a concern, we’ve been installing high voltage in water with little to no issue. Problem is cost. And I’m not here saying every residential house should have underground utilities, but for main feeds? Heck we got a main feed sitting in the river right now.

Radtechwxman
Laplace is in big trough. Eastern eyewall parked over them with insane rainfall rates and now it's starting to retrograde. Easily could see 20in+ of rain

hazwoper
Problem right now is the apparent complete stall of eye right now. The moisture feed into NO is still strong. Winds have dropped a bit, but yes, freshwater flooding doesn’t look good.

One of the New Orleans local stations said earlier that hurricane/tropical storm radar returns aren't always accurate in terms of intensity, i.e. it can be heavier than it looks on radar.

Sounds like some hyperbolic language considering what we’re heard from NO proper so far. It was a big thing in Katrina. Only go into the attic if you bring an axe to be able to hack through the roof.

KPITSnow
You have to just hope that the combination of surge and fresh water flooding doesn’t overwhelm the levees. I will never forget looking at CNN the day after Katrina in my college’s computer lab in the student union the morning after. I had thought that New Orleans had dodged a bullet, but when I pulled up CNN and saw an aerial shot that showed essentially the whole city flooded. I don’t want to see that again. 1
