Lime sized hail? When did they start using fruits?!

Just saw whitecaps on Deep Creek Lake via bridge CHART cam!  Definitely looks windy.

I know grapefruit was in use for a while. Didn't know limes were in use, though ;)

Is there a smaller line starting to pop over the Shen Valley, out ahead of (what I thought was) the main show?

That's a pretty regular occurrence in the region. A lot of times we don't see long tracking squall lines from the west side of the mountains freight train their way through. Boundaries like lee troughs and bay breezes tend to influence storm development locally in the LWX WFO. Terrain circulations are big too.

A perfect day for tubing on the Shenandoah River and now hearing thunder at Harpers Ferry Brewery.

Great views, mediocre beer. ;-)

Couldn't help but to notice this -- NPZ I hope you got a storm at your new place!

At 417 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Stephens City,
or near Millwood Pike, moving east at 45 mph.

I'm seeing 70+ mph a few thousand feet off of the surface with that one on radarscope.

Stephens City is the Short Pump of the high desert region.

91 with a tropical airmass in place. I feel like a good lightning show is on the way this evening for most of us.
