I  know its not sexy, but its necessary. Akin to why Wakefield was underappreciated with the Red Sox....guys who throw 200 serviceable IP/season do not grow on trees. You can't win without them.

The cold source is Tim Wakefield....Pedro's starts would not have mattered without guys like him.

Ah the Sox fans remembering and analogizing days of yore. Pats fans did a lot of that yesterday watching Brady and Gronk put on a clinic.

I remember the last time the Yankees won the WS. It's amazing how fast time flies by.

I won’t post texts but he’s fully prepared for a ratter. Not making it up

wouldn't surprise me. La nina, above avg temps, probably more wet/ice then snow, but warmer temps can still produce good snows, so we'll see.

20th century: 26 World Series titles and I think 37 appearances.

21st century: 1 World Series title and 3 appearances.

No it hasn’t.  Mildly above is not a furnace.  You said 70s/80s most of autumn.

80’s? Nope

How many 70s have you had since 10/1?  You’d expect some but I think more than 25% would be a lot.  BDL had 4 so far-20%.  It’s been above normal but not at all noteworthy.

We knew the glory days would come to an end eventually, just like our run of AN snowfall winters. :devilsmiley:

It can't go on forever...same deal with the Pats. Eventually, even the best step back for a time.

Butt is sore ^^^. Hopefully Brady and Gronk win another SB just so the whines are louder. Days of yore

Would it surprise you to learn that BDL 20th warmest since 9/1 and 39th driest. Would it also surprise you to learn the year that is closest in both numbers is 2010?

Nice info.  And we all know how January 2011 worked out, just saying.
