July Doldrums - Summer in full effect Pattern and Model Discussion

Is there a distinction in this overall synopsis ...?

Not intending to drag myself into a petty credit grab/validation routine, but ... the big seaward ridge and high pumping Bahama air mass all the way up is verifying nicely  - ... I always thought that was Bahama Blue...  It just pertains to the 'type' of blue sky - not so much the percentage of sky coverage...  In most Bahama patterns ... we're going to see training shower streets with narrow turrets and if your in those, you ain't seein' any blue regardless

Aside, heights are forecast to rise now through tomorrow night/Wednesday morning ...we may yet see a cap in instability and more pervasive clearing to come, so ... we may want to give it time to cook.

My point is he flipped his original call from the WAR being so far west we stay in the drought to mold and mushrooms on the lawn. You and I were discussing probably wetter times, but still above normal temps...especially on the mins.

Bermua, Bahama...tomato, tomahto. I’ve always said Bermuda, but the analogy fits both places. Of course a Bermuda High doesn’t translate to any blues...just Camden Crap.

I never posted about the WAR being dry with drought from it . Not once. This weekend was supposed to be wet and where has the axis of heavy rains been? Over us or west?

Ha... 'camden crap'

Hey Jerry -

...you could argue the better WAR look is actually on the Euro D8-10...

Yeah that signal would probably carry stronger warmth.  That’s been growing.

I mean ...the 594 DM contouring being canoe's distance from the Coast and all ...it's impressive, but... idiosyncratic orientation of all else imposes the SSE flow ... If your in the game for 'heat' it's not really the look you want.  The whole of the event is displaced N in an odd fashion..

We're getting the rich DPs and purified tropical blues ...in between whisky gray bases... very tropical look and feel. But the temp aren't likely to be high in this ..

Out there, the orientation of the WAR is lower in latitude and we're a bit more SW ... think Dallas transport may be more plausible in there - ... time will tell.

Maybe you're right...too busy to look back. My rooster got too frisky with a hen and took a 2" x 1" chunk out of her skin so we're kinda scrambling to heal her up.

I thought you were on the rains well west train too... you and Forky were pretty adamant about that at one point.  Ridge builds in so far west it keeps things dry.  Doesn't matter, forecasts are meant to change.  Ideas get thrown out all the time.

Just about to leave and drive down but looks like a 3-4 ply week for sure, haha.

Even up in NVT, dews are in the 70s.  Was just 73/73 +RN.  It's like a steambath outside.

Pretty amazing what a few miles can do. Only 0.15 at home in Belchertown, at UMass today I bet we got close to 1.5".

I received 2.06 in Hadley

9.69" of rain here in WeHa in the last 30 days. The damaging drought continues.

Wow.  That's insane.  I feel like we are under 3" in that time.

I just don't understand you're not believing my rainfall totals? What's the problem?

I believed you. I never once said I didn’t. You were in a lucky zone. You down to Ryan’s area have been the qpf jackpot this summer

Interesting how the rain is distributing.  Albany airport recorded something like .7 inches, 6 or 7 miles west in my back yard the gauge had at least an inch more than that and if you went ten miles west it was three inches or more.  If you were in one of those north-south alleys the rain was lined up in you got doused and if not you were kicking up dust.

ORH has had 3.9” this month and has a surplus of 0.81”.

I’m guessing (based on pool and occasional gauge readings) that I’m over 5” for the month.

Just missed a nice thunderstorm to my west

1.80" here.  Luckily with the moist air, it's keeping things relatively green.
