had 1.25" when i got up.  Sounded like it should have been more with how heavy it was overnight.

3.28 inches of rain here! Shatters old mark of 2.01 from 1987. All creeks and rivers either in flood or action stage, and still going up. Temp is 43.4/39.6, looking up on the tops of ridges they are blocked from view, appears to be snowing above 3000 ft. Highest wind from event was the 51 mph gust at 5:43 pm yesterday.

I was up with my 7-month-old from about 1:30-2:30 last night (or something like that), and I could tell it was absolutely pouring out. There was one flash of lightning and a good rumble of thunder just as I was getting out of bed to get her. Dog was almost as displeased as I was.

Didn't surprise me to wake up to all of those flood warnings this morning. Was pretty shocked there wasn't a flash flood warning last night with all of that training rain.

Nice event.  Nearly 2" of much-needed rain.  The air is so much more breathable today.

You sure it wasn't .2" of rain out there last night?

1.84" in my back yard.

What was really neat to see though was yesterday. My daughter had a horse show in Millwood, VA yesterday and the entire time I was there, from 6:30am - 12:30pm, it was sunny and breezy in the upper 60's. We saw some clouds building from the SE but they never really moved towards us. When we packed up and left to head back to Round Hill as we were approaching the mountain crossover we noticed the low hanging clouds and wind pick up. Got on the other side of the crossover to the barn and the weather changed dramatically. Cooler temps overcast spitting rain. It was like being in two different climates. :)

And really EPS?

Seriously though, we needed this cold in June/July.. Let's hope it doesn't just flip on us as in years past.
