My brother's friend from high school is in on this stuff. The guy loved to have fun - a real free spirit. Went to a Phish concert and jumped into a van and is only ever heard of nowadays posting end-of-days stuff on Facebook.

Many of you may know (or not know) but a tradition dating back to eastern days (maybe longer?) has been an NFL pick em contest run in the sports forum.  The schedule for each week is posted typically sometime on Tuesday and participants quote the post, bold the teams they think will win, predict a tiebreaker score for the Monday night game, and the weekly/season standings are then posted on Tuesday as well.  This contest is free.  

However, last year we introduced a pay pick-em league.  This league is run using yahoo and at the end of the season the top 3 people win money (65% for 1st, 25% for 2nd, 10% for 3rd).  We are hoping to get as many people as possible to join...the more people the higher the payouts.  We will also be doing weekly winners with that payout all dependent on how many are signed up...but think $10 per week unless we have a ton of sign-ups.

Will be headed back to the HHH later today, sadly the streak was broken this am as no new snow on the ridges this am, was hoping to go 4 for 4. Highest peaks above 13K  still white from earlier stuff. Son and I went up to top of 1st gondola at Keystone yesterday afternoon (11600 ft) and enjoyed bands, games and..... snow again around 4 pm, just enough to whiten then it passed. Felt like a Nov fall festival back home, but it is Aug lol. Drove up to Mt Evans Thursday, snowing and 34 degrees at the top, about 3-5 on the ground then. Luckily it was not sticking to the roads at that time and they had been plowed earlier. There are no guardrails above treeline, that road would be terrifying with snow/ice on it, absolute straight dropoffs!  Was 38 when I got up at 6:45 today, up to 44 now. Warmest I've seen since I arrived was 62. Yeah, a bit cool even by their standards, but I am soaking it all up/in before returning to the nastiness. Still on the property search.........;)

2+ days on the beach and all of my kids are fried.  Been crabbing and fishing and floating and splashing.  I've got sand in places that should never have sand.  But life is good and back to reality today.

 

oh and parenting tip.  Never let your kid spray you with suntan spray unless you want to be living artwork.

ive always thought that youre a piece of living artwork.  the poetic grace of your posts over the years has been a fountain of inspiration for me.  this skin deep stuff is just making it visible to the rest of the world.
