Got home this morning from my week at the river and the grass guy had just got through cutting the yard and he has to move the rain gauge to do it so I got no idea how much rain we got here at home but radar showed several rounds of storms here yesterday evening. 

 

I played with the pic of the possible funnel I saw form over the river yesterday I am pretty sure it was a weak funnel but it never made it to the surface....

The heat this year has been terrible here. Yesterday marked the 49th day I've hit 90 or greater... 8 days in may, 26 days in june, and every day this month has been at or above 90. I have little doubt today will be number 50.  I've had 11 days that I've hit 100 or better. Which is about as bad as it gets..however Columbia I noticed has had 14 days above 100...and they had 7 or 8 days where they were 98 or 99...so that's 20 plus days they've been near 100 or better.  Just look at the month of july they've had so far...pretty sick.

total screwjob here yesterday...thanks mostly to a mid level cloud deck that hung around much of the day and squashed cumulus development. There were some t-showers around after dark but didn't get a drop. One again there is some mid level cloudiness this morning....although not as widespread but there is some low level cumulus development already so expect better coverage today. Whether or not that means I don't get screwed well that's another matter altogether as the old lookout screwzone has been active this year..which is one reason it's been so damn hot.

We actually didnt break 90 for the first time until the first week of June ( not to bad its usually late April on average ) but since then its been normal crappy summer type weather but not like you guys have had. We have had lots of high heat index days but 95 is the hottest actual temp we have hit here but its also been very wet as well. We are 14" above normal so far this year and only 3" off the pace for wettest year ever, which we almost beat last year ( missed by less than a 1") so we have had 107" of rain since Jan 1 2015. Thankfully the back door fronts were good to us here early on in the summer and I dont envy you guys that heat it horrible. We hit 90 0 times in May, 11 times in June and 10 times so far in July but again none of those have exceeded 95, but we have had a lot of days with heat indexes in the 100-115 range thanks to all the rain we have gotten.

Quite a contrast between here and there for sure for both temps and rain. It's been really dry here for the last few months..so much so that we are now under severe and extreme drought conditions as you can see below. Local ponds and creek levels are pretty low..the lowest they've been in a couple of years. btw, I made a correction to my post..i missed a 90 degree day in may and june so it's actually 49 days. Yep I think I'm good......maybe we will see a active Aug/Sept tropical system wise and get a few rem lows inland to help you guys out....
