  3. Just saw reports of flurries in Va. Beach and Nags Head!
  4. Everyone's all upset about all these 10 & 15 day storms vanishing, and we can't even get a one day forecast right. Right now, we're 3 degrees warmer than the forecast called for.
  5. Same here. DP was 63 this morning, down to 30 now. The 66 outside feels a lot cooler than it is.
  6. 100% blue skies on this "mostly cloudy" afternoon. Forecasted 65, currently 68.
  7. Surprisingly dry here today given the initial forecasts. Just 0.01" in the bucket since sunrise. Made it up to 72 today. Gonna be a shock to the system when next week gets here!!
  8. 8 NE Garland [Sampson Co, NC] 911 CALL CENTER reports TSTM WND DMG at 1:38 PM EST -- *** 3 INJ *** A WATER LOADED MICROBURST OCCURRED OVER UNION INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL, CAUSING A PARTIAL ROOF COLLAPSE. THREE STUDENTS WERE TREATED FOR MINOR INJURIES AND TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL.

  10. I'll never figure out point forecasts. Moderate rain, thunder, Special Weather Statement, Mesoscale Discussion, and it lowered our chances of rain from 90% to 60%. And, we've already had more than the "Less than a tenth of an inch expected."

  12. Not totally unheard of. All of central NC and a good portion of SC had one on this date in 2014.

  14. We (KJNX) went from 52 at 2:35 AM to 61 at 3:15 AM this morning.
  15. KJNX says "Thunderstorm in vicinity." Radar says "closest precip is near Greenville, NC". Hmmmmmm 0.05" earlier today.
  16. GFS has been all over the place with precip amounts for this coming weekend. RDU has gone from 4.52" on yesterday's 06z to 0.24" this morning for the same time period.
  17. The afternoon 70% chance was a 100% bust. Southern end of the line just vanished on approach.
