it's been so wet to our southwest i think it's a decent hedge at this stage. Maybe we sneak into the action friday evening.

Yeah....this season's ring has been somewhat set...so much moisture in the soil and add to that what the evaportransporation is gonna do as we progress...boundaries will have a tough time making major headway northbound. It's not that the boundaries moving way north can't happen at all...I just wouldn't hedge my bets on it happening

Ended up with 1.3 inches last night...and a total of 2.2 inches from the multiple rounds yesterday through this morning...

Mid September feel outside on the skin...every window cracked to take advantage of the lower DPs

Didn't see any fog this morning, but it was definitely breezy and cool. 0.59" of rain yesterday into early this morning.

O yeah the new graphics are sweet!

Air quality alert for smoke for the entire state of WI. According to 12pm surface observations the plume is parked near I-39/90.

The rain started here around 9:50 am, moderate after noon and at times heavy. Very dark today and damp. The air smells really nice though. The last 2 or 3 days had a smokey haze blanketing the sky which is very rare in my spot, I think that has happened 3 times in the last 6+ years.

Yesterday was suppose to be the warmest day in over 45 days but we didn't reach the forecast high of 86ºF, what else is new? Including today the next 3 days will be below normal.

Just dumping rain right now. 3.21 inches already reported just to the west of me. Haven't been home yet but interested to see what is flooded over.

Hope all is well.

3.92" at IND today through 4:00 PM. That amount is good for the 11th highest calendar day rainfall in recorded history for Indianapolis. And it's still raining...

Beautiful day here after the smoke filled spectacle that occurred later yesterday (apocalypse)....  Love this weather.   Maybe some heat this weekend but euro doesn't look too horrible..earlier runs of gfs showed near 100f...  doubtful.

Banana man Saukville palm boy sent me the 552 hr CFS and said lock it in..

Too bad there is almost zero shear aloft, solid CAPE this morning ahead of the line could have made things interesting

And it did, to our SE (per the severe weather thread)...

With the amount of moisture (heavy precip loading, thus collapsing t'storms) and instability that was available, you really don't need much shear to get a fair amount of severe action, mainly damaging winds.

Got 0.15" of rain today... but you'd expect it was more based on the roads. Everything's pretty well saturated... the next week is gonna be interesting. Flood-wise, first it was Oklahoma... then Texas... Illinois, now Missouri. Someone posted above that some places near Indianapolis got >5" today. It seems like Mother Nature is deliberately flooding the lower Midwest region. The only states left are Indiana and Ohio. What a crazy (swampy) warm season it's been so far.
