Some were jumping ship prematurely last night... NWS held their ground and at this rate they will verify in Boston.

About 5 mile difference between 16F in Boston and 30F southeast

Guess I picked a good year to move to Weymouth! But honestly don't have the faintest idea where I'm going to put the snow from my car, snow banks are already taller than me.

It's ridiculous. There's a pile at the end of my street that's as tall as me, and im over 6'2. The road past here will be closed until April.

Yeah but this isn't what many were thinking would be going on (death band boston N&W).  Everything is south.  the warmth just didn't have the push and it shifted everything down a bit.

NAM was out to lunch right through the 12z run and it took the HRRR until the 14z run to buy a clue on the placement of the best banding.  RGEM wasn't great either, but it seems fine at 12z and hits EMA pretty hard all day into the evening.

It is interesting with the timing.  I wonder if the NWS captures the IP address of the submitter?

Meanwhile, I've had 2" since 0700 for a total of 7.5" since Saturday.

Same guy?

It looks suspicious...but can't say much not knowing the details. For trained spotters, they each have an individual ID number, so the same person would have to get a hold of those in order to make three seperate reports that are all from "trained spotter".

It's only been a recent phenomenon...like since the blizzard. So not sure whats' up...but the fact that all 3 report within minutes of eachother and the amounts are really close make it curious.

What could possibly be the motive for submitting fake reports

Gee, when they are the highest, like in the blizzard. You get your numbers reported on national news, TWC, and various media and social media. Every time someone spouts off 35" in Lunenburg you know you were the weenie responsible. Means nada in a 3-6" incher.

I was skeptical but models nailed the snow along the MA/VT border. Lots of win on the radar.

Dare we utter the word.......GFS???

Kevin will report them to the Interpol.  They'll get right on it.
