yes, but look as soon as it gets dark because it'll be waning.

Sunset picnic at the top of berkshire east ftw. Zero light pollution, decent view due North. Taking my family, hopefully it's not a waste of my time. ...I don't mind wasting my own time but my family won't be as patient.

Also, there's no Internet up there so I'll have no idea of the numbers.

Well.......that's a deep hole

I was stating that with a note of humor.

I'm annoyed we had a midnight high of 55F... The afternoon high up here has been 51F so far, now settled back to 50F again.

Afternoon high of 51F on September 12th....fall is here.

Righteous!  We got up to 64.5 here at 1:30, down to 62.0 now.

OT--daughter had her first day of band today.  Lots of rudimentary saxophone going on (hot cross buns).  Some things are simultaneously ftw and ftl.

AWT..it's a dry one tomorrow

A SECOND AREA OF SHOWERS WILL TRACK SOUTH OF NEW
ENGLAND AS LAST NIGHT/S FRONTAL BOUNDARY LIFTS NORTHWARD WITH
SECONDARY LOW PRES DEVELOPING ON THE FRONT IN RESPONSE TO RRQ OF
THE UPPER JET STREAK. THIS YIELDS LIKELY POPS ACROSS CAPE COD AND
THE ISLANDS WITH CHANCE POPS ELSEWHERE FOR SCATTERED SHOWERS.

News stations are saying 3-4am.

News stations are the worst possible source of information on this... there is nothing to base such a prediction on.  The Btotal has already fallen to about half of what it was earlier, so the most intense part has likely gone by.

Still plenty of potential,  the Btotal can fluctuate and lead to short lived displays.  The current solar wind values of 16Bt/-7Bz are pretty good but darkness is still hours away.
