Another lovely August day...high of 68F at the 1pm obs, now down to 61F in rain for the 3pm obs at the local MVL. Won't make 70F today with the drop this afternoon.

MPV to the south is even worse, now 57/55 at 3pm in mid-August with a half inch of rain so far today.

Wasn't really paying attention but didn't expect such a dreary day.

Neither did I.  Radar doesn't look like it will last but who knows.  Could be a crappy last night for golf league.

And BTV is enjoying 72F, while one county NE and SE are respectively 61F (MVL) and 57F (MPV), lol. One of those afternoons where it's a different world in the mountains with low clouds and rain-cooled air.

ORH pulled a 71 h 59 l today, lt rain there now  -3

Lots of -3 to -5 day across SNE

There's actually a bit of a warm front over the CT/MA line or pike region...SE winds south of it and more NE to the north...so ORH is about 6-7F cooler than Mt. Tolland right now.

BTV tossing the warm weather folks a bone in this afternoon's AFD...possible 85-90F this week in the larger valleys?

"Tuesday...high south of here, so a bit of a west/southwest flow gets established. 850mb temperatures up another degree. With west flow, this should also help with some downslope into the Champlain Valley so i'd expect middle 80s to be a solid bet in the valleys. The Euro runs several degrees cooler, so have leaned more toward the warmer GFS temperatures. Overnight will feature clear/calm/patchy fog.

Wednesday...high south of here, so the area is solidly in west/southwest flow. 850mb temperatures pushing 15-16c which support highs in the middle to upper 80s in spots. Add in some downsloping off the Adirondacks, and I think parts of the Champlain Valley could make a run at 90F."

we had 2pm-4pm practice and there was definitely som interesting cloud action. Dead winds earlier in practice gave through to a debris filled milky sky with mix of low almost tropical looking cu (surprising) and tons of cirrus. Winds picked up as we went onward too. Noticeably more muggy than earlier on this past week.
