BTRWx
Seems like this thing is setting up farther east in NC than forecast. Fayetteville is getting hammered right now - looks like precip is struggling to get into Charlotte. agreed, and a little faster

Pityflakes
it is too damn early for radar freakouts Not really, anything that potentially verifies the GFS solution is note-worthy. I'm not saying that the current radar does that, but it's worth monitoring/considering as the storm develops.
Joshfsu123
22 degrees at Navy Yard (low was 14; high is suppose to be 30) --- doubt we reach the high. Dewpoint is 6. That said, Navy Yard always runs cold... probably should add a degree or two to the temp for accuracy.

mattie g
With the admins likely turning features (such as profile locations) on and off as this storm progresses, it might be a good idea for people posting obs to state where the ob is coming from. This. It drives me nuts when I read obs and I can't see the location of the poster.
wxdude64
Just took a glance at traffic cams in SW VA, don't see any snow yet, although radar looks impressive. Looks to still be trying to overcome a bit of 'dryness' as radar has the classic hole in the center, but it is shrinking fast. Maybe another hour? Snowing in Boone, NC per cameras. RickinBaltimore
Point and click forecast has me down to 3-6 in Dundalk. Am I thinking that's too low or is this storm going to give the Baltimore area a lot less at this point?

snowfan
If they go with that, I think they'll bust low east of 95 and even up in your neck of the woods. seems LWX is dropping snow totals east and upping them west. http://www.erh.noaa.gov/lwx/winterstorm/
WxUSAF
seems LWX is dropping snow totals east and upping them west. http://www.erh.noaa.gov/lwx/winterstorm/ Yeah…I understand the logic for raising them out west, but I don't see it for lowering them towards the east. Everyone will get in on the snow tonight and I think almost everyone will see 6"+ from tonight alone. I'm thinking 6-10" for most of us tonight with lolli's to 12" tonight and then a much lower confidence 1-4" with the deform band.

usedtobe
Man it's cold outside with low dew points. Gonna be neat when the snow starts. Also, I think when I changeover, I go to sleet and freezing rain, doubt I see rain. Probably will see snow on the band end.
