who knows if the browns streak up to S LI....all those white dots block out the NYC area

We have a long ways to go. The snow over central PA is most likely associated with the trough itself and that will consolidate into the main snow area and will likely be the impetus for snow that hangs back tomorrow morning. The snow area should also pivot into a more classic looking CCB instead of the sheared look it has now. We're really not out of it until the vort max clears SE of us, which won't be until about dawn. Snow at this intensity for about another 7-9 hours could make for some hefty totals (it's light now, pushing moderate at times. Winds are picking up and drifting the snow. Estimating about 3" now)

Good forecast by Upton so far, but not sure why they have temps for my area holding around 26F ...already down to 22F and should fall through the teens overnight

Tonight Snow with widespread blowing snow. Steady temperature around 26. Windy, with a north wind 17 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Really need some coastal energy to boost things up...inxr1kphla (1).gif

It's really trying to push north.

Starts to and then falls back...this actually is close to what all models show though. The NAM qpf output and HRRR all had heaviest banding and accumulations in a line from SNYC back to SE PA, then back to SENJ

Wow. Close to 2,000 members on these boards, close to the all-time record set in Mar 2013. Goes to show you how awesome this storm is.

For those of us who grew up in the 80's, it would've been cool to have access to forums and weather info like there is now thanks to the internet and improved technology....although other than 83, there wasn't much to celebrate snow wise in that decade...

I really didn't have Internet access in the 90s either; although, that decade sucked other than '93-94 and '95-96.
