Without digesting all the available data.  I think it is not out of the question for the NWS to upgrade to a Winter Storm Warning for New York City and portions of Long Island.  Just my gut feeling and based on my experience.

This is fabulous news particular coming from a pro. Hope you are right my friend!

Surface low was always progged to go underneath us... it's the track of the 850 low that is important here, as well as the implications of early season/warm SSTs that will enable all levels to warm above freezing by 11 for the 5 boroughs.

 

 

a few more inches of snow, more icing, difficult travel..

Temp up 2 to 27. Mod snow but dont know how long. When we flip to rain it will b frz , looks like back edge coming through balt wash area

Mayb we can dry out before we get above 0c

I honestly wouldn't mind that all. Eyeballing 4 inches now in avenel..if the storm ended within a few hours before it changes to ice it would be better.

I see them reporting 26 at 651pm with a NE wind.
