That is some biting cold for 11/12-11/13 on the Euro. Climo for BOS is like +2 at 850mb and its showing about -12C. Record values are around -13C to -14C...so its an airmass that pushes the bounds for this time of year.

euro 2-m temps are actually falling through the day on tuesday...BOS goes from like 48F to 38F 12z to 18z....FMH is 53 to 40F.

526 thicknesses and very steep lapse rates in the low levels helping out. Those are warm temps for such low thicknesses.

15C lapse rate from T1-T5 is darn good for Novie.

LOl I am posting from the OKX CWA bro

I know, but unfortunately you're stuck in a NYC-centric CWA. You are definitely in one of the colder and snowier spots, but there are ~20 million people in the CWA, of which 95% live in NYC metro. Believe it or not, I've yet to have a frost although the growing season finally came to an end with the freeze earlier in the week.

Had some more graupel and flurries off and on since our heavier snow showers around 8 AM. Temperatures stuck in the upper 30s.

I think there's a good potential for a solid upslope event along the west slope of the Greens, Taconics, and Berkshires with the cold frontal passage early Tuesday as the cold advection will squeeze out any moisture in the air. There will likely be some minor accumulations for some of these areas, with maybe more for the ski areas in VT.

GEFS insist on trying to pop a -NAO post D10. There's some EPO ugliness around D10 which probably torches a large part of CONUS but it's followed by a nice looking -NAO spike.

Yeah that NAO spike may try and prevent us from furnacing outside of a day or two...its a bootleg airmass up in Canada by that point, but it would be enough to probably hover us around normal.

Yeah that EPO flip does us in before we get the blocking up toward Greenland. Bummer.
