Walk down to Rock Creek, their is probably a desert like wash flash flood going on. The entire basin is getting dumped on right now.

now it's circled around to my west by about 20 feet.

Just passed 4" storm total here in Chantilly, continuous rainfall moderate to heavy since 10:15pm (2.5 hours).

Still absolutely pouring out there, but I am going to bed.  On the second floor, in case my house turns into a houseboat while I am sleeping.

1.16" in the last 52 minutes.  Lots of thunder and lightning.  Enough already.

Are any of these strikes touching the ground? I am considered a jebwalk through the neighbordhood with the scubagear but I don't want do get struck and die.

Yes.  One of them hit across the street from here about an hour ago.  Not sure what it hit but it was simultaneous daylight-intensity lightning and thunder loud enough to set off car alarms.  It may even have been a positive strike.
