So weird here...it snows for literally 30 seconds and then disappears or changes to rain for another 20 seconds and then changes back and then back again. Or the snow picks up in intensity for less than 10 seconds and then just disappears all together. I really have no idea why this is happening.

Wow usually it's the opposite, meanwhile we can't coax more than a few mangles snowflakes and according to radar we are under better echoes than you.

Long Beach is outside of the heat island-that might be a factor. Under the more marginal of conditions we would probably accumulate better. Radar echos look pretty nice over NYC, it's still a light rate there?

 

Models seem to bring the heaviest of the snow overhead tomorrow morning, hopefully for accums we get the heaviest overnight or before the sun gets too high. Radar looks to be strengthening (knock on wood) for most of us through the next couple of hours so let's cash in.

The radar looks great for NYC Metro. Hoping to get some of those bands to pivot into SMQ so that we can cash in as well in Somerset County.
