Bingo-- exactly what several of us have said: solid EF3, possibly higher.

We all did a good job rating this one from our armchairs. :sun:

Yeah walking around Monson it was really easy to see EF-3 damage. There are candidates for EF-4 damage but it's unclear.

I hope everyone local does donate some money to whatever reputable local charity to help out, if needed. Very bad scene.

Although CT Rain downplayed what happened in Springfield earlier I think there's EF3 damage indicated in the east Forest Park and 16 Acres sections of the city and possibly in the South End.

I said widespread EF1/EF2 but it appears to be some EF3 damage there too.

Brimfield looks a little stronger , could find 4 damage there, some great and sad stories out of there.

I would agree with this.....based on the definitions, I think it would have been difficult to see by-the-book EF4 damage in Monson, but Brimfield - just from the portion I saw (Holland Road) would definitely qualify by-the-book IMO.

That tornadotony poster from ohio saw the debri ball on the radar during the event and posted it was either EF-3 or 4......that guy seems to know his stuff

Tony has come a long way since his uber weenie days ;) Also, please don't insult him by saying he's from Ohio. :guitar:

Now was that really necessary? We are going through enough with Tressel leaving and the Buckeyes and all...we are all a mess here right now....really..talking about kicking someone when they are down..:P

*dilly is half at least of why we look so bad on here....

*edited because I like Frito-Lay!

When I saw you in here I KNEW something was up for this day...but still it didn't fully click with me to just call and say I couldn't do the book that day. I'm just mentally drained from this.

Heh, I know the feeling. I was at a friend's grad party on 6/7/08, when a cyclic supercell that produced 8 tornadoes, 4 of them strong, passed 10 miles west of my house. I didn't chase that day and I've regretted it ever since.

:axe:

That blows...at least though you live in an area a little more favorable than I do

The season is still young here though, but it doesn't last long...usually after the second week of July things decline very quickly. I haven't look at the euro but the GFS looks pretty boring over the next 10 days or so. This past system may very well have been the last one the pattern had to offer.
