  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah it’s still mostly sticks here. The aspen and willow are the only things that have started leafing out. The forsythia is fully flowered now. Hopefully this week we wake more up.
  3. Was supposed to rain and not much.
  4. 57 for the high today. This cool, mostly overcast weather sucks. And tonight another frost is likely.
  5. Yesterday
  6. Snow fell for several hours overnight. So both May 1 & 2 had a T of snow.
  7. Nice camera shot. Your landscape is a solid 3-4 weeks behind here.
  8. WB 18Z EURO Wed./Th. As duly noted in NWS discussion, big shift south with low pressure compared to yesterday.
  9. Looks like we will end the day at a decent .45". Good soaker.
  10. Thanks Brian. It’s been a long journey. The tethered cord is a condition that can happen in people with her condition. She was finally diagnosed about a year ago with EDS - Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. She also has POTS and MCAS. For those who don’t know what these all are, here it is in a snippet. EDS - Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is a connective tissue disorder that causes hyper mobility and other connective tissue issues. This is the scary one that has a high morbidity to it to those with more severe cases. She is lucky hers is on the milder spectrum but debilitating nonetheless. MCAS - Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and certain things can trigger your mast cells to activate and it causes a whole. It cause rashes and allergic responses. POTS or Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome is a nervous system disorder that cause dizziness/fainting and elevated heart rate. Come to find out these 3 disorders are pretty commonly diagnosed together. She’s struggled in the last several years to do anything. Her joints are those of someone in there 60s/70s. She can get around a bit at home but she uses either a walker or a wheelchair when she’s out and about. It’s been hard to see all this take so long to get diagnosed.
  11. Yes. Even more rare than a WSW...frost and freeze warnings have been issued have been issues by the NWS. Good call. I normally plant my warm plants on Derby weekend. Not so today. The temp is 57F with the real feel at a toasty 49F. I honestly thought about building a fire in the fireplace. I ordered some affordable season extending gear. We will see how that garden, cold weather gear holds up tonight. The 18z RGEM gets down to 33 over TRI and the 18z GFS gets down to 32. Yikes.
  12. Went up to Farmer Stan's in Upperco. Got more Lobelia Cardinalis, Bee Balm, Daisies, and Columbines. We have them in a cold frame right now for the cool weather tonight. I'm especially hopeful that I can keep the deer away this year and get my Russian Mammoth sunflowers to take. Last year, deer got inside our fence and ruined our entire garden in one night.
  13. We steined here thank god.
  14. Well would ya look at that. MRX had to pull out the ol frost advisory for Northeast TN, the plateau, and SW VA. They had been acknowledging that they might have to issue one. It’s a conversation that probably belongs in banter to a degree, but there’s no mistaking this airmass. It’s quite cool out there today!
  15. Yesterday Port Comfort TX. Measured G103KT. CoastalWx -- WHY CAN'T WE GET THAT HERE? https://x.com/CPalermo_Storms/status/2050301507174539390 Actually, CoastalWx did have it "here." May 22, 1996 Brockton macroburst G90KT! However, despite him outside at track at his high school, he missed it! He only had a faint idea something was going on close by. He wasn't too good yet at "the sky is talking!"
  16. Fox almost just got a turkey in the yard. Caught it on cam retreating after the failed attempt.
  17. 8 years but better late than never. Hopefully it’s a faster than expected recovery. Best wishes to her, you, and your fam.
  18. Here is for the month of May forecasts lot of cooler forecasts considering for where we have been for the last 3 months. I will update snowfall as we get close to the middle of the month, Ill have to go back repost it here at some point. Just as a reminder June will be max temp forecasts for the summer Ill post that as we get closer to the end of the month.
  19. Sure has. A warm AN Napril with 4 AC days in the books. Very little cool this spring thankfully other than a few days mixed in like today
  20. Here is the final scoring for April as well as the current standings Jan-Apr. Bolded are the scores with the highest total for each region, some great scores for this month and a great first month for GaWx. We had some changes in standings for Jan-Apr with Chuck taking a solid uptick even after missing out a month with Donsutherland taking a more commanding lead. Keep up the great work folks!
  21. The ECMWF has mostly light rain for you guys but the GFS and Canadian have snow and 37 in the daytime this week. It's getting a bit late in the year for snow in the daytime.
