Ensembles shouldn’t be given any weight at all under 48 hrs. We aren’t getting anything significant in Augusta County. We are still cooked. The Euro was the best model on the last storm for the track and overall development. The NAM and the GFS had the precipitation types better for our backyards. Forecasters often talk about a Euro/NAM combo being the best, although they still mention the GFS at times. The Euro kicks ass at verification scores. It doesn’t beat the GFS by a little bit. The GFS isn’t even in second place! The Euro is still the king. All we mean by that is that it is right the most and wavers less. We know it is not literally a king and we know it is not always right.

17 at the house this morning. So we are going to do this thing? It's been 4 years since more than 5 inches has fallen from one event in my yard. I believe we're going to see some dynamics that the models can't sniff out until a couple of hour out! -
That’s why I wanted it even more

Yeah imagine 2 years in a row if that happens. Not sure of anything with this one. Very complicated system. Huge boom and bust potential.

Definitely Thats ruining this storm

Wife got a call this morning as she is a Supervisor for USDA. Her employee said at one of the establishments in Shenandoah probably wouldn't be working today as there is a water main break effecting the whole town, Sounds like the whole town is without water. And it will take most of the daylight hours to fix it. -
MBY bottomed at 8. Tipton airport a few miles away got to 3.

The roads are still a mess. People are still digging out . Imagine if we have gotten the Sunday storm. That would have been a sight to see with huge snow piles. No clue why its so hard now to get a Miller A.

Only -5 at my place. Persistent clouds and even some light snow. At my office in Waterbury right now I am in the midst of a JSpin special snow shower. -
Low was 9.4 at 7 am. Temp stayed in low teens overnight as the winds cranked in 20's and 30's (and WC's in the -10 range). Finally wind calmed to under 10 mph late and temp dropped to low right at 7 am CoCoRaHS reading. I passed on doing a SWE this morning to give myself and the tools a break, lol. The 5 inches of concrete just isn't enjoyable trying to get thru and up. Temp still dropping, 8.8/-0.1 at 8 am.

10.9 for the low. Snowpack stopped compacting. Same 6.5” as yesterday.

The last four winters have been like that really minus this last storm. Even the 80s had a few big ones, so I guess the last storm was akin to one of those big ones in the 80s. -
