  1. Past hour
  2. There’s a paper discussion what we’ve chatted about many times here. Brilliant!
  3. So we are just done talking about ENSO in an ENSO thread and this has now become a historical catalog for snowfall accuracy and debating climate?
  4. Another beautiful morning, though this morning felt more like a fall morning, except that the Sun has already been up for an hour and a half.
  5. Severe storms tonight. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  6. 45F winds still busy, not like yesterday, hope the sun makes a brief showing.
  7. I'm not really surprised about 2013-14, as that was a very warm winter out west (same with 2014-15). 2010-11 was the one that surprised me. I thought it would make it, especially as a strong la nina year, and not really having the extreme warmth out west of a 13-14 or 14-15. 2009-10 making the list is more impressive to me, considering that was a strong el nino. Usually, strong el ninos are warm CONUS, as you can see with 2015-16 and 2023-24 taking the #1 and #2 spots. Regarding 1981-82, the bulk of the snow and cold were in January and that April event. February and March were rather quiet.
  8. 44 degrees this morning, WOW! I could live with this till November.
  9. No, just was operating without my brain the other day is all.
  10. Park hit 49 this morning
  11. What a stretch. But yeah, maybe some improvement for the back end of MDW.
  12. There is nothing nice about any of this anymore. I deal with depression and anxiety, and all the gloomy weather we've been having doesn't help at all. Even on nice days I sometimes struggle, so you can imagine what a cold, dark, and wet day does to me.
  13. Today
  14. more rain that I don't need. Wish it would not rain for a week.
  15. 42 when I left the house. Beautiful clear sky morning.
  16. This is a good news /bad news chart. The world is moving quickly to clean energy technology, but the US is lagging and policy support in the US is being removed. We will be left with an outmoded energy system.
  17. 1st Day 1 Outlook has the 10% Tornado area as far east as Knoxville.
  18. rotation was a maximum at Drake Airport, Greenland, Arkansas. (Note: University of Arkansas is in Fayetteville)
  19. This is a very concerning severe weather outlook for Tennessee, with a 45% wind risk. Years ago, the SPC considered any 45% values as -moderate-. But anyway, watch out for all severe hazards tomorrow.
  20. Maybe we will get neither snow or heat in New England. Double-whammy!
