I know you are in 7th heaven - cold blast, blanket of snow on everything, and an Eagles blow-out! Temp here is now down to 18 with dp 10, so the arctic air is settling in.

Back from a weekend in NYC, and I've missed a 50+ page thread! Darn! Gonna be a cold one tonight! Hopefully the wind dies.

15 degrees with gusty winds and a frozen landscape. Our 12 pound doodle was not happy going out to do her business! Some relatives arriving back to DCA this evening after a week in Key West -- hope they are prepared LOL

If the PDO is truly improving then we may be entering another heater. Imagine a Niño with this improved PDO.

The snow depth sensor uses an echo-location ping (think bats/dolphins) to determine the depth. We've noticed that sometimes a big "spike" happens because the ping bounced off a snowflake(s) just below the sensor. This makes the sensor think that the snow top is right beneath the sensor. We have a few ideas of how we might remedy this, but we're pretty sure we're not going to be able to solve it completely. Humans with eyeballs are much more reliable!

Well hopefully the GEFS idea of the SER linking with the NAO block does not happen because by the end of the run we have a decent -NAO

Snowpile, December 2025 edition! I'm thinking this (6.2") might be the most snow here in a single event since March of 2018. I enjoyed it accordingly! 18F currently, dp is 3 - its cold!

Lol.... TT loves to provoke just about anyone. Not sure why he is so bitter. There is so much going on to start this Winter season. So much that could bring us great season. So any of us know how it will end or which way it will go? Not necessarily, but there are many signs that point to a much better winter than the last several. Point is, not sure why he's so against what the winter could be. Knocking down everything that would relate to a snow or your winter for us here in the Northeast. Time will tell. Hopefully TT Will find some kind of holiday cheer.

19 and still plenty of wind but managed to see 2 meteors in 10 mins. Hopefully wind lays down by 10pm or so. Crystal clear night for watching the geminids

Final check in from West Hanover Township: 1.5-2". My in-laws in North Wales outside of Philly got 7-8".

Luckily, very little snow in Franklin County today so everything should be like glass after the rain. Folks are out on the ice fishing everywhere. I’m might walk out on Barton Cove tomorrow with the chisel to see how much ice there is. Guessing it’s probably 4 to 6 inches. There’s already a few pop-up shanties set up out there.

9pm 19F . NW 19 WC 4 The post noon high was 27.8 which would be a record if it was The high . That’s a -20 departure which are hard to come by round these here parts
