  1. Past hour
  2. Yep, some of the backyard weather stations are pushing 80 degree dewpoints on the barrier islands.
  3. Little bit of thundering going on in mid-Litchfield County
  4. I've gotten use to the heat and humidity. I work outside all day. Today I was in Deal, MD applying polly sand to a paver patio. It was partly shaded and their was a nice breeze. I'm looking forward to a nice rain tomorrow for my cannabis ladies.
  5. 1.18" should be my final total. My July total is 8.54", almost the same as last July. The plants and lawns are very lush.
  6. I've been out some and yeah it's hot but not as horrible as expected. I cannot wait for this cold front though! I doubt I'll get any rain here and will water everything tomorrow as usual. But great temps are coming and all of next week looks good!
  7. Our own @wxmvpete wrote the disco. It’s intense.
  8. DFW did finally hot 100*F for the first time this season yesterday. Should log 2 more today and tomorrow.
  9. Are the storms expected to make any type of progress SE? I feel like they've been in NE PA and SNY for hours now
  10. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if someone has a flash flood emergency. Meanwhile it’s the hottest day of the season at the beach. We have had 2 heat stroke incidents with people unconscious.
  11. Significant cell appears to be descending on me from the NW but may miss by a mile or two. Temp is down 6-7° since the clouds moved so that's nice.
  12. Trees have a cooling effect. In a way, Central Park is providing a demonstration of how trees can blunt at least some of the warming that is ongoing. Here's how things have fared in terms of average summer high temperatures 1961-1990 and 1991-2020 in the New York City area. Central Park is the lone sight showing a slight cooling of mean summer high temperatures.
  13. The WPC just issued a Moderate risk for flash flooding across the I-95 corridor tomorrow. The HRRR and NAM are both showing PWATs upwards of 2.2-2.5" and the front looks to be draped right across NW PA with plenty of moisture transport into the region
  14. Unprecedented in duration air quality issues due to wildfire smoke according to the NWS. It won’t be until Saturday afternoon that the AQI is out of the unhealthy category. AQI of 163 imby
  15. Maybe im just becoming use to the humidity, but it doesn't even feel that bad out now. Almost feels dry.
  16. visiting in-laws for a few weeks in downeast maine (northern part of frenchman bay) and it is dry as a bone here. cooked. had maybe a half inch of rain two weeks ago and since then basically nil. a dry summer for this part of the world. better than the absolute inferno that has been my home in MD tho
