2026-2027 Record-breaking El Nino
40/70 Benchmark replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Weather Forecasting and Discussion
Were you predicting -PNA for the season, though? What you are referring to is simply misinterpretation of a seasonal chart....I recall someone was telling me that the PNA would average negative. Anyway, NBD...I wasn't trying to call anyone out. -

My interpretation of that is volatility.....biased + first half, neutralish to perhaps even somewhat negative second half.....but AO should be negative. -

49 for the overnight low here... 40 at the yellow dog. Looks like another nice day with just a slight chance of showers tonight and tomorrow. Endless string of 70's in the forecast.

some rain last night, great for sleeping, windows open currently 63/62, looks like AC season may be over -
Stay warm and dry through November for all i care then snap that rubber band for December through February
-
Wouldn't mind warm and dry (read: not humid) September and October at this point. Soupy October is the worst
-
Appears to be some rain headed this way will it be a nickle or a dime?

Occasional Thoughts on Climate Change
donsutherland1 replied to donsutherland1's topic in Climate Change
Following the warmest August and warmest month on record in the ERA-5 dataset, September 1 started with a global mean temperature of 16.739C. That destroyed the monthly record of 16.607C from September 1, 2024. The preliminary 0.132C difference between the new mark and the old record is the largest difference between any first and second highest monthly values. -

Yet another exceptionally unpleasant, sunless, stiflingly muggy morning. I can't WAIT for real fall.

I laugh everytime they issue a flood watch for me. Lucky to get 1” of rain here most times. Crazy how it be that way sometimes. I mean feel like we used to get training storms all the time a few years back and hammered but not the past 2 years.

2026 Mid-Atlantic Severe Storm General Discussion
dailylurker replied to Kmlwx's topic in Mid Atlantic
Absolutely! I haven't even had a real thunderstorm this year. Watching PA get crushed all summer has been frustrating. Some places up there had almost 7" of rain just last night. That's on top of 3-4" they had yesterday. Hrrr has nothing today for our area. Don't worry though. The same places in pa looked to get crushed again this afternoon. We do humidity and heat.- 2,382 replies
