Getting some light snow here in Stephenson
-
Sweet cause Im hungry also!
-
Clouds associated with this band of flurries are rolling in. Picking up a little. Gorgeous out. And dangerous!

So, silly me, I shoveled the snow and figured I'd get to the sleet this morning. I'm 288lbs. My feet did not go through the 2 inches of sleet. So, ummm. Yeah. I'll throw some salt on it. See what happens later. But this stuff is no going anywhere. If temps get close to 30 degrees today, it will cause some melting but make everything even more supplely when it refreezes.

we have the GFS for that

Winter 2025-26 Medium/Long Range Discussion

Come on Buck....you'll give us Ohioans a bad name. This will make up for the years and years of virtually no winter weather at all. Embrace it! -
subtract an hour from your euro times and yes, that's about right.

Son just tried to stick a ruler into the snow on patio table, couldn’t punch it through. Other son shoveled a bunch of driveways with his friends for $$$ Yesterday but won’t do ours for less than $50 now. Dog still won’t take a crap. Wife has yelled at all 3 this morning. Trying to work remotely. This is going to be a hell of a day.

Fine. Yes, the same name, I fact, I set this account up in 2010 but never posted here. I was an active poster on NYC Metro, for years. It was founded by a few then-young guys after the "Bevans" board went nutty. NYC Metro had its day, it was like family; until it went downhill. Great posters were there, the late-Icehater; Robbbs; Tatamy, who is here; Thundersleet; and the always-fun Metfanforlife, to name a few. Many good posters here and great moderators, so I might chime in from time to time. I look to your numbers and the members in Colonia, Metuchen, and Plainfield for comparisons. FD

I would think more like 12z tomorrow, but he's our snow dad so.

I may have to move commentary over here for the most part these next few days. I don’t want to come across as an ass to folks down east because I’m rooting for an incredibly amped, 30 miles inland low that cuts off at the 500mb level and goes negative tilt around Mississippi. Time to eat. Enough eastern NC appetizers through the years.
-
Yep. What a great event. Trying to move what fell yesterday evening sucked something else. And my car is encased in ice.
-
While it looks good, I go back to what is always said, you don’t wanna be in the good zone this far out.

csnavy, a met in the MA forum, had a good/ funny approach for managing expectations regarding models each day this week: In other words, if we are in the bullseye on Friday, we should feel free to do whatever Vince is doing above. -

How nice is this? It's the tiniest little clipper you can imagine on the radar right now haha. -

Typically in the past, At this lead, You have a buckshot look but this one seems to have better clustering and many members west of the mean with some sub 980mb members. -

January 24-26: Miracle or Mirage OBS Thread!
SomeguyfromTakomaPark replied to Jebman's topic in Mid Atlantic
Yeah and normally here it warms up in a few days, we rarely have a week of Adirondacks in Feb temps after a storm. -
9" here of absolute fluff. A nick stack of some of the lightest snow I've seen fall here at my house. Snow has filled back in and at this ratio should have no trouble hitting the 3-6" in the forecast.
