  2. We've here in MId have had some warm Septs, but i dont think its comparable to 1925,in modern day ERA this year might probably top out any year. But 1925 Nashville we hit triple digits 7 days in a row.Birmingham hit hit trips 14 staraight days in row !!That's just insane !!
  3. That Garrett cell has legs. Solid up tick in CG and it's got that look like it's a little vort or something pushing it along.
  4. Radarscope had rotation in the Garrett County cell which just got svr warned
  5. Power has been out for 13 hours here. Storm was absolutely crazy for me. Was a crazy cool lightning storm that boomed! for a moment on video it looked like the afternoon bc of the ltn lol
  6. Things probably won't pick up appreciably until the latter half of October.
  7. Unfortunately, some of this is completely out of the hands of the amazing team at NWS Mount Holly. New policies are forcing heavy reliance on NBM output, which is basically used "verbatim" in their grids. In other words, the meteorologists with special local knowledge can't exercise said knowledge to "beat the models" unless sufficient justification is provided. At that point, they may be allowed to send requests to the WPC to update/change the forecasts from raw NBM output.

  9. Nino 1+2 (keep in mind that this is non-relative) had a strong rise yesterday. Get ready for a tweet from Adam, Abraham, and/or others addressing this saying record breaking yada yada yada. Keep in mind though that records from 1982-3 and 1997-8 are based on weeklies, not dailies. Also, highest relative WEEKLY in 1983 was +4.6 and in 1997 was +4.1. Let’s see where the current calendar week relative 1+2 on Monday. It won’t be anywhere near +4.6 although it may get close to +4.0.
  10. Sorry, I wasn’t talking about why PG closed, it makes sense that they did. I said it’s dumb that VA and PA kids are out today but MD kids are not, bc of the holiday weekend
  11. Most anomalous snowfall of my life occurred in April 1997, which was an otherwise bottom-dwelling season.
  12. Should be 4th day in a row with 95+ here and MLI.
  13. This is an excellent point. Concentration on the seasonal mean is absolutely pointless for the individual weather events. Hell even the warmest winter of my lifetime, 2023-24, had a 10 day stretch of brutal winter weather. It can go both ways of course (a cold winter can be boring). But any weather enthusiast who is too preoccupied with a likely seasonal mean has done a disservice to his hobby that got him here in the first place.
