Augdewst 2026: Summer's Last Stand
CoastalWx replied to Prismshine Productions's topic in New England
Yeah I was thinking a bit NW of there. -
Little room to complain with our recent history locally, but some thunder would've been nice today especially since it's more normy filler weather for the rest of the week

Activity will be more on the widespread side into western CT...probably up to the CT River. Activity begins isolated but should quickly organize into short lines and clusters. -

2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season
TheDreamTraveler replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Tropical Headquarters
Definitely. Though even 1997 and 2015 had much more activity by this point. 97 went on to be one of the quietest years on record but still it's impressive just how little activity there's been at all to this point -

Going away to block island next week, hoping it’s not a washout. But I dont love how the models look. Guess I should have figured in what has been a wet summer that it would continue into September. -
^More on this: The very strong Nino seasons of 1982 and 1877 only had 1 TC by Aug 26th. 1965 only had 2. And 2026 so far has been a sig. stronger Nino than these 3. @TheDreamTraveler

AI models are not infallible. Sometimes they can be "blind" until the last minute, as appears to be the case with 96L. https://x.com/yconsor/status/2092682443710923077

2026 Mid-Atlantic Severe Storm General Discussion
batmanbrad replied to Kmlwx's topic in Mid Atlantic
the early afternoon SPC D2 outlook did expand the SLGT somewhat so that it now covers a good sized portion of our area.... still doesn't look like it'll be a particularly high end event, may or may not end up getting a watch out of it tomorrow. But, something to follow.- 2,210 replies
