A soaking 0.15" here that should allow the lawn to continue to curl up and burn.  We take.

Some nice, plump red oak acorns this year.

We know this ... but just in case.  The idea that acorns can predict a wet warm or snowy cold winter has very low or no skill as a forecasting metric.

Years with perceived surpluses of acorns have nothing to do with ensuing seasonality.  According to all science/peer reviewal, those were influenced/triggered by past environmental factors -

so yeah... , it was cold and snowy last year.  or warm and wet... which ever. tell us what we already know. 

but obviously... we are so fantastically bored -

Yeah. I set my t-stat to 68 cool from pretty much April to October. This is what my central air usage looks like just about every year.

*Asked the wife to check/empty the gauge for me when she went out for the chicks. When I later asked her for the total she went blank. And 0.66" was the best she could guess. 

Unfortunately it's double any nearby station. 

I've seen that happen, legitimately, but looking at the radar overnight, it doesn't really support that.

Correct it's not the amount of acorns. It's the size of the squirrels that dictate snowfall.
