I just have to share with folks who will get it... I'm so excited right now. I grew up in Mt Airy and have been living in the lowlands of the Eastern Shore, Pasadena and Glen Burnie for the last 20+ yrs. My family is about to move back to either Mt Airy or Eldersburg and I can't wait to be on the other side of the 36-and-rain obs

Welcome to country living! As someone who grew up in Pasadena, it’s a whole different world up north hahaha. Every time I go visit my mom, I’m grateful not to deal with suburbia anymore haha

In case you didn't experience or forgot what January, 1994 cold was like, enjoy this TWC rerun. You only hear music, but check out the forecasts and obs. Hard to believe we kept getting screwed with the zr and ip for most of the high precip storms.

There's been a couple other Orioles hitters ( other than Jackson) to reach out to Matt Holiday for hitting help and have emediate success. Beavers is one of them.

What an indictment on the Os hitting coaches,  the organizational philosophy and Mike Elias. 

Mike needs to go. I'm more and more convinced Elias is ruining all of these young guys careers.

Yep. He and Sig (who I think is driving the computer numbers bus and has a problem with micromanaging) have been a detrimental combination with this...goodness gracious.

I'm genuinely thinking of filing a class action lawsuit against the Orioles for retaining our current GM despite overwhelming evidence he is impersonating an actual GM. The lawsuit will also include language that will ask for a recoup for mental and emotional damages that should be on par with Mesothelioma compensation.

It's official! I actually added a month to the lease. I've got a beautiful cabin on the top of the Tug Hill from Dec 1 to March 31st. Katabatic is also in on it. We'll be tracking and chasing powerful snowstorms anywhere in New England. Lake effect is the big game we both have a passion for. Nothing like the excitement of chasing LES. Copenhagen (my local town) holds the record for the heaviest hourly snowfall rate for the planet. Google it. 1964. 12" in one hour. Lake effect is the ultimate snowfall.

As into this as you are, you need to head to NW Japan. Sea (of Japan) effect snow is more epic with Siberian cold blasting across the relatively warm sea. The higher elevations just inland of the Coast in Hokkaido get destroyed with up to 70 ft annually. Even areas right on the coast get crushed pretty good most winters.

I follow this dude on YouTube that moved from England to a town in snow country Japan. I'll have to go refresh my memory what the name of the town is. It's one of the snowiest in Japan. Epic! That's my second favorite place I'd like to visit. It's really affordable to buy a house in snow country Japan. 

Still not 12" per hour rates like the Tug. Merica! FUK YEAH!

Extremely frustrating period. Not hard to see why looking at h5.

As storms approached cold HP was fleeting and exited stage right with a crappy NA. Lots of WAR.

Going to have to reach out to @katabatic and you about joining sometime this winter. Would love to catch some LES love. @WxWatcher007 and I have wanted to chase up there, and around Michigan too. Would be a ton of fun and not a whole lot of sleep lol

Awesome, congrats. With an AN temp winter likely up here I think that opens the door for something juicy. There’s nothing like LES.

Yeah we gotta do it at some point. Last year got away from me with my wife’s new job and all but boy did we hit the jackpot. Just over 150” here at SLK with numerous periods below zero. It was heavenly. 
 

But yeah we definitely need a chase. If we went down to Buffalo we have the benefit of food, good road infrastructure, and meeting up with the guys out there that chase every year locally.

And of course, Watertown is Watertown.

After joining @katabatic last year (such a gracious host) for a taste of mountain snowfall, will definitely be considering an LES chase. Hope you all have so much fun!!

I'm still pissed i missed that squall interception with you guys on Kaisers Ridge (I think that was the Ridge). I have a feeling there's going to be an extreme LES event this season. One of those 60-80"+ events. Warm lakes due to mild temps should yield some epic rates somewhere on the Tug. If you or anyone wants to come up. Be prepared to rent a snowmobile. I've got a sled connections right down the street. If the cabin isn't in the most intense core we will definitely be chasing on sleds. Core punching on sleds should make for an exciting time.

I need to consider a snowmobile now that I have SLK as an option in the winter. A lot of trails up here.
