Not sure I'll experience a thunderstorm better than today's storm - at least not IMBY. 

I've never seen wind like that, not from a t-storm.  Plus 0.96" in 13 minutes.  Legit white out at times. 

Lots of massive oaks and pines down around town, and fortunately most were not on cars or homes.  Half were uprooted and half were just snapped off at the base.  Not sure how accurate RadarScope is with estimated velocity, but 60-65 mph smells in the ballpark.  Power out about 6 hrs.

You can see what a mess wind like this going through a forest would make when trying to figure out if it is tornadic or not.

On the velocity front, keep in mind that it is radial velocity, so some component of that wind was not being sampled since it was not directly parallel to the radial. I would say 60 mph would be the lower bound of the estimated wind.

Interesting, thank you. Definitely had that extra bite.  I'm also happy the hail spared the gardens and plants for the most part.

I don't really have any reason to doubt it based on the radar signatures.

The Maine Public Lands "peer review" field trip was Tues/Wed in the woods south from MLT, and we saw very few mosquitos, black flies, almost no deer flies (thankfully).

Had 0.22" from a 'probable' TS yesterday about 3 PM.  We were meeting family in Hallowell at the time, but when we got home about 4 we noted that our thunderphobic Lab mix had been hiding in the bathroom.

Looks like he updated it as well with another nearby weather station recording a 97 mph gust.

Here’s an old velocity image I have from Harvey from 9 years ago. CRP radar is due west of landfall so the radials extending eastward are giving you near 0 velocity since all of the wind east of the low are S and west of the low are N and nothing is going to, or away, from the beam.

September has been the sunniest month here, and August the 2nd most.  (Least sunny is Dec, 2nd Nov - to no one's surprise.)
