Gushing rains.  Winds gusting 40-45 briefly.

Looks like some potential debris being lofted.

Passed here.  Rainfall was the most extreme part of it.  Winds briefly gusted to 40-45 mph.  Just some small branches and twigs down.  If there was anything more significant damage wise I think it would have been just south of me.  Impressive nonetheless.

That cell in C-NJ all by itself has to be watched to go tornadic over the next hour

This may be one of the few times dynamics rule and can produce repeated rounds of severe without much sun to destabilize the atmosphere.

At 232 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Rockaway, or near Morristown, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Dover, East Hanover, Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, Boonton, Rockaway,
Morris Plains, Mountain Lakes, Riverdale, Victory Gardens,
Parsippany, Pequannock Township, Lake Telemark, White Meadow Lake,

Traffic cams along route 80 have been impressive.  Looks like night and they are bouncing around.  Visibility looks like zero at times in spots.

Light rain developing along the sea breeze front will put a hamper on things down here for a while.

Maybe some of this clearing over central NJ can make its way here and destabilize. Otherwise there’s been about 5 sprinkles here.
