Am I missing something or does Mesonet not record any historical data? I know that's not the purpose but it would be nice to at least have monthly data(for the current month).

Great question! Long term data is stored, but the website hasn't evolved yet to display that information.

As a temporary work around, I've been taking the URL for the Las Vegas ASOS (you can use any western region ob) that capture the 5-min observations (https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=KVGT), then switch out the airport code for the MD mesonet stations, which use the nomenclature of three digits then MD (EX: 001MD, 002MD, etc.) Once you swap out the site code, refresh the page then left click 'Advanced Options' and you can select a time from the 'Number of Hours to Retrieve'. 

Paging @wxmeddler in case I missed anything.

Matt is correct about it being an upcoming feature although you can submit a data request here. We send it to you in a CSV file.

Thank you to you and @Eskimo Joe for the upcoming update! Had to retire my backyard station after another sensor broke, and after 10+ years of use, I say I got my moneys worth. Until I get a new one I’m relying on Mesonet and often forget to check precip totals the next day and then can’t go backwards in time haha

The rain bands had been moving SW to NE, but it looks like they've shifted to W to E. Some yellows on the path to hit Fairfax.

One good shower about an hour ago. Well under the .50 to an inch forecasted by some models but I will take .15.  Maybe one more line will add a little more....

Yeah looks like a nothing burger again. Maybe a tenth, which is what I expected.
