3/15-3/16 Winter Storm

It’s been snowing off and on all day but only about a half inch on the ground.

Had really hoped it'd stay cloudier today than it has been. Sun angle is bad enough even with the clouds. Temps several degrees above forecast.

Looks like we ended up somewhere in the 10" range here. Very hard to tell exactly how much because of the drifting though. Sun is starting to peek through here, although we still have several hours of blowing snow to go before it finally calms down. Will be interesting to see how long this snowpack lasts both around here and in the extreme totals up north. With 3/25/23 it took about 5 days to melt everything but the largest piles. But that was a bit later in the year and a wetter snow with some rain as well on top of it. We are supposed to hit the 50s by Friday, but we will see how much the snowpack reinforces the cold air even with March sunlight. Crazy to think that this is about the same amount of sunlight that we had when were in the upper 80s in late September last year. All in all, a very memorable storm for the state of Wisconsin and one that will be talked about for a while like the 2018 storm.

Snow and wind have let up considerably with another 5-6" possible through the night.  Snow is too deep to walk or even snowshoe in, there's no power, and the road is closed for miles. 
Deepest snow I have ever seen. The house is almost buried.

My 5' snow stake is buried but it read 44" before the storm, so well over 60"

Hey Bo long time..... I was complaining early about clearing my 2' plus I received in the past 2 days. But have nothing compared to what your dealing with.

2' is still a lot of snow especially this time of year when the thrill is def over.  At least we are only 6 weeks away from May.
MQT received 33.7" (LE- 3.79").  Probably nearing 40" out this way. Good to see you were spared the ice!

Yes missed the ice by about 20 miles, although did get about 10" of sleet, never plowed such heavy stuff in my life. Def over winter, was down to about 12" OTG before this started was finally able to see my roof again now looks like mid January.  Ready for spring break in 2 weeks then will be in southern carribean.

This was at 11:30 this AM in Williamsburg, just outside of Traverse City. We had clear ground on Thursday morning. 

We've added another four inches since then and looking at maybe 6 more by the AM. Went out to snowblow and had to abandon it halfway through since I couldn't see through the snow. Had a fresh inch on the ground I had already done. 

Biggest snowstorm I have ever seen in my life.

I want to say it'll be mostly melted except for the piles by saturday afternoon
