  1. Wow, 70 degrees yesterday, 2AM heavy storms, to snow and 15 degrees all day with 6" of snow so far, dont think I have every seen such changes in short order.
  2. Yea, agreed I wont go in it when its more than a breeze as it is miserable, the heated mats are a game changer though.
  3. Picked up about 24" in the past few days, def put a dent in the snow deficit. Also nothing better then 104 degree water with a light snow falling on you.
  4. Picked up about 8-10 hard to tell due to drifting, def underperformed, moisture stripped away quickly and busted for much of Northern Lower. Looks like yooper Bo is going to be the winner congratz
  5. Ive had a few spurts of 2" hr rates off and on with steady 1" pr hr rates since about 5
  6. Been ripping here for about 2 hours now, 3" so far , visibility about zero
  7. APX not messing around, I stand corrected. Calling for snow rates as high as 3-4" per hour. With the traffic hitting North today/tonight I could see it getting ugly on i75 and adjacent areas.
  8. APX is always very conservative, my guess Blizzard warnings go up tomorrow evening through early Sat Morning.
  9. 12-18" Synoptic followed by another 12"+ of LES, My area is going to be a very busy place this weekend. Great for the local businesses been a real struggle this winter so far.
  10. NWS Pretty Bullish for the mitten, add in LES afterwards going to do some damage to our snow deficit this winter.
  11. Weekend looking interesting around here, picked up about 7" of cement from previous system with more on the way then the LES kicks in, def making up for the lackluster winter so far around here.
  12. Looks like a decent LES setup for the belts, solid 8-12+ coming. Picked up about 5" today form the frontal snow.
  13. Definitely was a stopper for me getting this news, I have followed John for many many years, never met him personally but judging from reactions from his friends and family he was an amazing person. I truly feel for his family especially his wife and adaugher and right before the holidays. John had a lot of health issues over is life was very outspoken about them, never once did I feel or believe he was bitter or anger regarding his health situations from reading his Journals he always handled them with dignity and grace. Their is a GoFundMe created for him to assist with his untimely death. I am not one to normally promote or assist with these but I truely feel this is a worthy cause for his family. https://gofund.me/fd800fa6
  14. Woke up with about an inch on the ground (Grass, cold surfaces) roads were just wet. Glad it held off for a bit to get final yard cleanup down and snow equipment ready. Not as enthused about the first snowfall as I used to be, my daughter was pretty excited though which brought a smile to my face.
  15. Yep same for my area, I usually get snow first due to proximity and elevation from Lake, Petoskey and Traverse tend to get snow a few weeks later. Been enjoying these late season temps, leaves just at about peak, need a little decent stretch of dry weather hopefully to get a chance to get the yardwork done before the snow arrives for good.
  16. I ended up with about 7-8" really hard to tell with the melt, but the ratio has to be the lowest I have ever seen. Power been flickering all night, luckily the winds were lower here or no doubt would have had outages. The Western UP on the other hand was almost as bad as we had around Christmas down here, I ended up with about 36" snow but ratio was much higher compared to what Bo has, I cant imagine having to plow clear 5-1 ration over 2' deep. Good news is that it will melt fairly fast but still will take several days.
  17. Picked up about 6" so far, hard to truly measure as it is melting from underneath.
  18. Man looks like Mid Winter up there, crazy, Ill probably end up with a 1-4" not sure how much will stick / last.
  19. LOL, i am assuming this is overdone or at least hoping.
  20. Missed the big show last night due to thick overcast, pretty bummed ready for some consistent warmth.
  21. Leave for spring back nd of March in a blizzard 2'+ OTG still, enjoy 90s in Mexico/Caribbean, come back home this week and in the 80s hitting 85 today. Finally have bare ground again and just some stubborn snowplow piles left.
  22. Will be down around K-Zoo the Marshall tomorrow through the weekend visiting family. Quick peak at high res guidance looks like most hold off precap until later in the day after 4ish does this seem reasonable for the i94 corridor?
  23. Picked up about 7" today so far not to shabby by this winters standards. Ready for spring
