Yes missed the ice by about 20 miles, although did get about 10" of sleet, never plowed such heavy stuff in my life. Def over winter, was down to about 12" OTG before this started was finally able to see my roof again now looks like mid January. Ready for spring break in 2 weeks then will be in southern carribean.
-
Hey Bo long time..... I was complaining early about clearing my 2' plus I received in the past 2 days. But have nothing compared to what your dealing with.
-
How much ice did you get last year, we got about 1.2 - 1.5" imby in last years ice storm.
-
That sucks man, we lucked out ended up with 10-12" of concrete again which I will gladly take. Looks like its a little less ice than last year but still a mess. Hope you get your power back soon, last year I was out for over 10 days.
-
Yea the warm layer didnt fully make it to my area as forcasted, lucky for us bad for m72 - m55 they are getting hit hard. I know the pain all to well from last year almost exactly a year ago.
-
Switching over to heavy snow/sleet mix, I'll take it over the previous forcasted ice. Took about 2 hours to plow/clear the snow/sleet mess, seen several pics north of me with burried cars/etc. i75 shutdown from the bridge to south of Grayling.

Picked up about 15" of cement from the clipper, picked up about 6" this morning, changed over to heavy sleet, fz rain the past several hours. Hoping it stays more sleet over here. Adding .5 to 1" of freezing rain on top of this would be a knockout.

Agreed glad something trended SE, not a fan that it was the NAM, would prefer Euro but its something.
-
How much will stick?? Combined with 12-20" of concrete and 45mph winds fun times ahead.
-
When you get over 1.5" of ice in one shot and was forcasted to get about .5" dont tell me to chill. Models continue to show the remote possibiliy of another crippling ice storm is enough to justify my elevated concerns and anxiety not to mention all I have to do is look outside my window and get a instant reminder of what crippling ice can do.
-
Yea saw that too, im close to 2.5" of ice that run
-
Snow is certinlty impressive for who cashes in, but the ice is the bigger story, if it remotely verifies somewhere is Michigan will be beyond catastrophic. Northern Michigan already has PTSD from last years storm almost exactly a YTD. My area is right on the edge dont think Northern Michigan can take another once in a century ice storm for the infrastrcuture. Electric bills have gone though the roof since last year already not to mention woods have been decimated and many areas still havent fully recovered regarding property damage.
-
Yes, I had about 230"imby last year, then a massive ice storm that decimated my property and left me without power for 12 straight days. Now our electric bill has gone up almsot 100 a month espcially since we were denied Fema releif funding but I digress.

Crazy storm, ended up with 12" from the storm , then another 6" from LES last night. Calling for another 8-12" thru New Years. Finally got my power back this afternoon. After last season's snow/ice and this year just about ready to move somewhere much warmer.
-
Approaching an inch of ice since Friday night, trees , power lines down everywhere, most coutnies have 90% w/o power what a mess.
-
In the past hour I have seen heavy rain, hail, thunder lightning, heay snow now back to heavy thunder ice. Crazy

Picked up about 24" so far since last night Gaylord APX broke their record 24 hr total already as well, Im about 7 Miles west of APX -
Wow, 70 degrees yesterday, 2AM heavy storms, to snow and 15 degrees all day with 6" of snow so far, dont think I have every seen such changes in short order.
-
Yea, agreed I wont go in it when its more than a breeze as it is miserable, the heated mats are a game changer though.
-
Summary for my area
-
Picked up about 24" in the past few days, def put a dent in the snow deficit. Also nothing better then 104 degree water with a light snow falling on you.
-
that group is all on discord now
-
Picked up about 8-10 hard to tell due to drifting, def underperformed, moisture stripped away quickly and busted for much of Northern Lower. Looks like yooper Bo is going to be the winner congratz
-
Ive had a few spurts of 2" hr rates off and on with steady 1" pr hr rates since about 5
-
Been ripping here for about 2 hours now, 3" so far , visibility about zero
