Rain.

Temps stayed up all night as expected. Continued thaw and melting overnight of the of piles into 60 degree temps tonight should wipe it all out, outside of the parking lots.

Not so sure on the winds today or tonight. The window for gusts 40-50+ mph is probably quite small...like a 1-2 hour window (if that) just out ahead of the cold front when we mix better. Just too much precipitation around today/tonight to probably sufficiently mix. Going to have to rely on embedded convection really but instability overall is going to be pretty weak

I've realized that my true passion is snowstorms. I guess I'd also be interested in a tropical system or severe storms if they panned out, but cutters bore me, generally. Need something damaging like Oct 21 to peek my interest, or early March 2018

Yeah I consider March 2018 to be king in my lifetime. Oct 2017 and 2021 were both good but they happened at night and the damaging winds didn't last for as long as in March 2018. Unless you live on the immediate coast, wind is usually underwhelming in New England.

Pretty similar to 2017-2018, just flip February and March and slit the snow between Jan/Feb.

Will and I called that...  Or actually, it's better to say that the modeling complexion, indices to performance tenors et al, looked like a no win scenario for mid March+, two weeks ago. We commiserated a back and forth about it.

Those indicators were ugly.  Not sufficient to offset normal seasonal climb out (the haunting abstraction of CC not helping -).  Yet, the pattern still looked like it was going to try and fight the sun. 

The residue of that leaves us with no fun for late winter enthusiasts, and no fun for spring and warmth. 

No one wins. It seems the ambit of prognostic technology's nailing this purgatory.
